Crookbond Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Afridi involved in scuffle at airport http://www.espncricinfo.com/pakistan/content/current/story/558490.html Shahid Afridi, the Pakistan allrounder, has been involved in a scuffle with a member of the public at Karachi airport. Afridi was returning from Dhaka, where Pakistan had won the Asia Cup, and lost his temper after being mobbed by fans on his arrival. Television footage showed Afridi, wearing a red t-shirt, walking towards his car while being surrounded by fans taking pictures and wanting autographs. After a point Afridi, visibly angry, lost his temper and threw a few punches at some people. His brother, Mushtaq, intervened and prevented the situation from getting worse. Afridi later said he did not want to hurt anyone but had lost his temper when his three-year old daughter was caught in the middle of the crowd. "There was no security for players and it's usual that fans come and seek autographs," Afridi said. "But this time they were out of control and hurt my daughter, on which I lost my temper." aEodYiWIZTA Afridi's interview after the scuffle incident RJZhBbW2uEI
abhisek_ Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Sahid Afridi beats up fan at karachi airport :) What should have been a triumphant homecoming turned into a brawl on Friday when PakistanÃÔ enigmatic all-rounder Shahid Afridi lost his temper and punched a man at Karachi airport. Television footage showed Afridi hitting the man, who eventually fell down, before cutting to images of the cricketer being driven away in his car. A crowd had gathered at the airport to greet Afridi after he was declared man-of-the-match in PakistanÃÔ thrilling two-run win over Bangladesh in the Asia Cup final on Thursday. Afridi told Samaa Television that his three-year-old daughter fell to the floor in the crush at the airport, causing him to lose his temper. AfridiÃÔ victim told the station that he didnÃÕ mind being hit by Afridi. :omg:
Texy Posted March 24, 2012 Author Posted March 24, 2012 So far there are no pics of his daughter or family pre/post arrival. He was just being an @s.s.hole and he CAN get away with that since he's a famous cricketer and has been given a demi-god status. I bet he has the police in his back pocket. Pretty disgusting. Blame also goes to all his fans dying to get his autograph.
CoverDrive Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 afridi may or may not be justified here- cant tell from video. But scary part is there is not one security guy to be seen in all this. If you cannot cordon the most popular paki cricketer how will you protect foreign players- this whole scene is an invitation for suicide bombing. law and order situation in that country is down in the dumps. Good luck to any team even thinking of going there. I dont want india to ever play there.
Roshanrocks Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 From the video , it looked like some fans from behind him were provoking him, they must have been saying something really bad for him to get so angry. He's human after all.
PriyankaSR Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 He says his 3 yr daughter was pushed to the ground....if so he did the right thing. If so, he did the right thing.
mastana Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 From 0:53 to 0:58 what is afridi doing? Pushing his daughter into the car? :hmmm:

DomainK Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Afridi has this habit of exposing his kids to the media. I remember his small daughters bawling their eyes out after the Mohali loss and they were accusing Misbah on live tv for the loss. That is not healthy for kids of that age. They are too young. He should keep them away from the media. Hope he learns from this incidence.
Prakat Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 I saw a child in the news....looked like him. :haha::haha:

ravishingravi Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 "It seems the man merely pointed out that Afridi's daughter's age is now more than Afridi's official current age." "Why did Afridi beat that guy up like that? Did the poor man offer him a senior citizen discount or something?" from twitter
