beetle Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Human nature itself is very selfish.Infact selfishness itself is necessary for survival.Just think for a moment if the society take away responsibility of caring elders from children then how many people will want children? So people in this country have children only so they can be caretakers? A very large percentage of population will keep saving their money for old age rather than having children.Just look at many developed countries where birth rate is extremely low.One of the main reason people say for not having children is they can't afford them ,so in countries like India with per capita income of 1500$ people can afford children but in countries like Germany where per capita income is 45000$ people can't afford them. This country would have been a much better place if people did this.Our effed up obsession with having children is the biggest problem facing our country.If there were lesser people even our country could have better care for the elderly population We are one of the most materialistic people in the world .So much for our spirituality bullshit. Daughters are killed because they are considered useless in the big scheme of things.Daughters are denied their due inheritance because it doesn't benefit the parents.

Most of the girls from my relation are much more educated and very well employed compared to the boys some of whom dropped out of school. It frankly makes absolutely no difference IMHO.

When his wife and her parents failed to pay the Rs1 lakh he demanded, the man tried to punch his child to death. Umar Farroq, a resident of Kushalnagar off Tannery Road and car painter by profession, is on the run with KG Halli police looking out for him after he allegedly tried to kill his two-month-old infant daughter in his residence. His wife Reshma Bhanu has lodged cases of dowry harassment and attempt to murder against him. Reshma told police that Umar had ordered her to bring him Rs 1 lakh if she delivered a baby girl. "The couple was married in December 2010 and Reshma gave birth to baby girl in first week of February. Umar repeatedly scolded her, asking her to bring Rs 1 lakh," police said. But things turned nasty on Friday. "Reshma was feeding the baby when Umar snatched her from behind and punched on her face. Neighbours rushed and shifted the infant to Bowring Hospital, from where she was shifted to Vani Vilas Hospital," police said. In Countries like India where govt could hardly provide you any old age security you don't have any other option apart from looking to children in old age so it is natural for people to see children as investment But wont those children have their own children to invest in? The parents invested in them, not their own parents. So the next generation will invest in their own children

Yes lesser people people will be very good for India birth rate decline should be gradual.A country should always maintain healthy young/old population ratio.Europe Japan, and even China is now facing problem of increasing number of old people and declining number of young people and in future their economies will face consequence of it. Daughters are so caring, and especially so close to Dads..My lil one never leaves me alone.. My wife calls her dad every single day on phone... That beast should be severly punished... :mad:
