Did I claim anywhere that Kohli is a world beating T20 player? Someone called him an immature batsman and I pointed out that it's not possible for an immature batsman to have the kind of sustained success Kohli has had. At which point you countered by saying that every format has it's own level of maturity. So either Tendulkar, Dravid, and Kohli are all immature batsmen or they are probably not ideally suited to T20s?

I meant if Tendulkar and Daravid were in such situation, they would have won it for the team and not play such shot which Kohli played that is the difference between them. Kohli in T20s tries to play differently, trying to force the shots rather than playing as he plays in ODIs with touch and timing. That kind of mindset I am talking about.

I couldn't even see the sense in Tendulkar running himself out for a cowlasher like Smith yesterday and said so in the match thread, but then maybe such things make sense in T20. :dontknow:

Apart from one innings, he did not do anything, but still it could be debatable as he should try to play 20 overs and players from other side go for shots likes of Rohit. It was Rohit Sharma who could have won them that match if he was not in conundrum of defending or attacking with wickets falling. He had already won them a few matches this IPL from hopeless situations.
MCcricket Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 LOL some people expect bowlers at a tender age to be born or bowl like Dale Steyn lol, even Dale Steyn , Imran Khan, took a bit of time to get to where they are , specially in this unforgiving format, T20 needs greater precision, better ingenuity even from batsmen, see the top performers and you will see the best players in the world, barring one or two rookies.
Vilander Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 ^^^ kindly stop mentioning dale steyn along with imran khan. dale can be compared with west indian fast bowlers like andy roberts,garner or aussie thomson. Imran was good but not in the level these guys operate in, and rightfully so, imran was an all rounder.

If perform bad in IPL, no need to care.

Ya thats the to encourage youngsters.Praise when they perform well but dont go overboard on criticizm if they have a couple of poor games. If it was based on the intelligence of some here Stuart Board would never have been allowed to bowl another over after than 6 sixes by Yuvi.

He bowled very poorly today. Should be noticed. It's about going for most runs in a game. That shouldn't be read too much into. Usually when bowlers bowl bad, captains don't finish their quota. Delhi couldn't give 20th over to anyone else.
