Compare that with other politicians namely Rahul or Kejriwal, whom have done neither. Btw, there are many other leaders whom lack such ability. For example, Mamata whom really made a mess out of herself in her recent interview.

There could be an unprecedented moment, where BJP alone winning a majority, with 40+ seats still left in UP & Bihar. This would be huge. Though all based on bookies, illegal exit polls, increase on voter turnout etc. so still rumors. But seems certain NDA forming a majority government and now question is really who fills the cabinet posts.

He knows exactly what he is doing.religious symbolism is not an issue in metro or rest of India but Eastern UP is a different case all together, the only way to ask people not to vote on the basis of caste is by instigating religious polarization. This portion of India is actually going to determine whether he will be able to form government or not.

Images like these will cause the third front - Amma, Didi, Behenji to gain the anti-incumbant vote on secular grounds. No need for this at this stage. It was already done in the background at a local level, it was not needed from Modi on the big stage.
