saneindian Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Naman Ojha isn't a IPL star. Did fairly well in the last domestic season. Where have Robin Bist and Awana disappeared? Could have given a chance to Dhawal Kularni as well. Vinay Kumar going for such a tour is a joke. Batting wise, they have gone with the right picks IMO.

Number Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 ^ Saha will be reserve WK during NZ series at home I guess. @Saneindian, I didn't know about Ojha's last season's performance. Still he is 30 yrs of age. Karnataka's CM Gautam seems better. Uday Kaul too, but he doesn't keep much.
saneindian Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Both Bist and Awana had got injured during the A tour of WI. Looks like both are yet to recover from their injuries. That is the only reason that explains their ommission from the A side.

saneindian Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 For home tests, the selectors have never picked a reserve keeper in the side unless Dhoni has had an injury issue going into the test series. Also, he could be the reserve keeper for the T20 WC (though not named in the squad) and the A tour falls right when the T20 WC will be played. That could be the reason why both him and Rahane (reserve batsman) have not been named for the A tour.
