Chandan Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 well there are some players who played on the same tour (odis or tests) who are getting exposed again .My post was not about just senior players only .They got a pass because seniors also struggled then. Don't think any test player from those two disastrous series is here apart from Mukund who played some part in Eng series and has been a big failure here. So please talk about the players. Those two series are not of importance while discussing the performance of players here.

As far as I know he just took 4 of the 40 wickets fallen in 4 innings. That is not good at all.

They seem to have two really good pacers in the rank whom we might see in international cricket shortly-- Holder and Johnson. Other seamer is an all rounder Carter who is doing a much better job on these lively tracks but may not succeed as much on the placid pitches that we get in international cricket. Batsmen are good as Brathwaite, Simmon have/had played international cricket. Spinner Bishoo has played tests as well. So how can you say that it is a weak WI A side and India A is very strong? To how many other top "A" sides would this WI side be a threat? I doubt it. The Indian side is actually equipped with a lot of stars compared to the WI side ( esp in batting) who are expected to do very well but did not. A 1-1 would still not be a bad result for India.

Especially worrisome is how Rahane fared in the series and I fear he may very well go the Murali Vijay way post IPL. For a guy who averages in mid 60s Rahane got out too many times in 20s & 30s which should seldom happen.

Number Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Life is gonna be tough for young batsmen coming. 1 fail series and here we'll see tags of FTB,HTB, ITB, PBB. Rome wasn't built in a day. It'll take time to replace 3 good batsmen. Have some patience and be positive. :two_thumbs_up:

Implications of failing at international level is next to zero these days.At most fans , critics will take them for a ride. Like they give a damn.

Well, even in T20 international cricket, India is utter rubbish - we have been humiliated in the last two World T20s despite our guys playing a gazillion games in that tamasha league thing. Ironically we actually won the World T20 before the supposed greatest tournament in the universe even existed. The only thing we remain good at is ODI cricket but even there, we managed to lose to friggin Bangladesh in our most recent tournament.
