Boxing is exciting to watch, it's violent and requires alot of intelligence, speed, endurance, stamina, footwork, hand eye coord, skill, power. Boxers are the ultimate athlete's.

So the statement is fair in absolute as well as relative terms.

Bad luck to test die-hard fans There isnt. dhoni makes almost all his money from endorsements. his salary is a crappy 3.5 mil. a rookie free agent walk-on from the practice squad could probably make close to that in the NFL. same goes for tendulkar. a meager 2 mill in salary. i guess he could match dhoni if endorsed alcohol, but he has a squeaky clean image to maintain. so the only thing this proves is that cricketers make jack **** compared to athletes in other sports...i suppose if you are indian, you would be happy because indians dont play anything else and incomes have increased across the board, but ppl in england and elsewhere could do better in other sports. and this just applies to INDIAN cricketers. indian companies can spend the big bucks, but cricketers from other subcon countries still make **** all. when IPL teams or cricket boards start paying 10 mil and above to grade 'a' players...then we can talk about 'money' in cricket.

Currently, cricket is non-existent in terms of pay compared to football, boxing, F1, golf and tennis. These are the big 5.
