GautiMaan Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 2007 World Cup exit ended Dravid's captaincy stint not some elaborate conspiracy
Laaloo Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 http://www.dnaindia.com/sport/report_i-would-go-to-war-with-dhoni-by-my-side-gary-kirsten_1556275 Here's is the part for you all- And Laaloo, now that I've backed it up with a link, this one's up your ass. And now, the lil beetch that you are, you will not post in this thread and accept you jumped gun, will you? :D Thanks for providing a link. If you were a bit smarter and had provided the link earlier, then that would have saved some bandwidth, however little it is.
maniac Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 Rahul Dravid had a succesful stint as captain that's it....but sorry to say despite R.D being a very nice guy,he is not leadership material....As a captain I put him in the same league as Azhar(Now please don't bring in the match-fixing debate)....Azhar was succesful as a captain in his own right too but was not a great leader. Ganguly and Kumble were the best captains to lead India ever because they took over during a transition phase and at a difficult time and proved to be good leader of men and absorb all the pressure.
maniac Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 ^ Also to add there might be nothing wrong with what Chappel said verbatim but the way he framed it is definetely questionable or can be classified as trolling
Vijay.Sharma Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 Nope i definitly did not say all that' date=' see i am responsible for only what i say not what you understand. Populist view is ok, i acceept it, but its just not the only view mate. ofcourse Dravid or Sachin or Laxman will never ever open their mouth on this, they are too good for it. [b']but ofcourse there was evidences of dissent apparent dring dravid captaining days, probably they were the dissent against chappel but we can oly speculate. Chappel has a point.Care to present the evidence?
Crookbond Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 2007 World Cup exit ended Dravid's captaincy stint not some elaborate conspiracy It did not! WTH is wrong here? We won in England post ODI WC 2007.
jind Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 The fact you agree with Chappell sums up nicley both you and Chappell!!! :hysterical::hysterical:
achilles Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Thanks for providing a link. If you were a bit smarter and had provided the link earlier' date=' then that would have saved some bandwidth, however little it is.[/quote'] Not everyone is unemployed and free to talk all day like you, nor are people uniformed like you. Forgive me for believing you were well-read.
Needforspeed Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 I will believe if Rahul Dravid says something like this. Greg Chappel has no credibility. Trying to rake up a controversy to sell his book + the usual Gora style of Divide and Rule.
RedFever Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 when there are such great players in one team - Sachin' date=' Ganguly, Dravid, kumble, [b']Laxman there are bound to be differing views and opinions. 5 all time Indian greats have played together for long periods in one of the best periods for indian cricket. Infact it is to their credit that nothing significant has happened over last 10-12 years to break the harmony of the team and no one has come out in media with allegations against each others. you only need to look at our padosis where every 2nd captain seems to be backstabbed by the guy next in line. people are opening accusing each other. Even teams like Australia have had more infighting even with all their success. England has had its share of controversies. these guys have been true professionals and we should really commend them and all this really adds to their greatness. Lol @Laxman all time indian great
Crookbond Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 I will believe if Rahul Dravid says something like this. Greg Chappel has no credibility. Trying to rake up a controversy to sell his book + the usual Gora style of Divide and Rule. You do know this was written in Dravid's book and not Chappell's book right?
Needforspeed Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 You do know this was written in Dravid's book and not Chappell's book right? I realise it now. I thought it was a Chappel book. So its a book on Rahul Dravid..Then the contents would have been approved by Dravid.
Crookbond Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 I realise it now. I thought it was a Chappel book. So its a book on Rahul Dravid..Then the contents would have been approved by Dravid. Again wrong. It's a collection of articles of what other people think about Dravid released by ESPNCricinfo. I highly doubt Dravid had any say in it. Dravid was just called to do the honors.
ravishingravi Posted July 7, 2012 Author Posted July 7, 2012 Lol @Laxman all time indian great Lol @ you
Dravid_TheWall Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Not everyone is unemployed and free to talk all day like you' date=' nor are people uniformed like you. Forgive me for believing you were well-read.[/quote'] Nice one, you put him in his place. :haha::haha:
Vilander Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Care to present the evidence? nope i dont care enough , you have two options 1, suck it up and take it like a man 2, take my word for it :cantstop:
Number Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Yes, it was not enjoyed by Dravid himself too. http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/player/28114.html?captain=1;class=1;filter=advanced;opposition=1;opposition=2;opposition=3;opposition=4;opposition=5;opposition=7;opposition=8;orderby=default;template=results;type=allround :cantstop:
King Khan Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 Old hogs fighting over spit spots on their shirts matters little in current time. I like Dada's comment on this- "No mood for this anymore". If Greg and any of you wants to proof something oposing or agreering upon those media stories, good for you guys to feel you better as being gora or indian whatever. Whats the point painting those dead careers! This is not era of test matches anymore, yeah IPL hai boss. What matters.
