meloveindia Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 2 months back in May 2012, i spend 12 days in beautiful Kashmir with family Srinagar, Sonmarg, Gulmarg, Pahalgam - its surely a nice place srinagar - all the gardens awesome and DAL lake :-) sonmarg - thalawas glacier, ride on ponies cannot be forgotten gulmarg- going up the Gondola, after reaching phase 1 - going up phase 2 is awesome also pony ride around that meadow is heaven pahalgam - river rafting on lidder river, beauty of Aru/Chandanwadi awesome ... will be back next winter for doing some skiing course in gulmarg

Yes ,I did cable car ride (both phase one and phase II).It was pretty awesome .simply loved it :) Aru and Gulmarg are good :).Though Gulmarg is pretty much made into a heap of horse dirt except for golf course . anyway few teasers from the trip :P Next time I will bypass Srinagar at any costs .If I need crowd then delhi is pretty good for that . This year has lot of influx of tourist in Kashmir Valley[never happened before] since incident of stoning ,which happened 2 years back.Normal Kashmiri knows influx of tourists means prosperity . So how much did you oppress the lovers of Azadi ? As far as my understanding goes many people there do realize that going by separatists way won't bring any prosperity to the state.Going against India in general means less tourists from other parts of India .Only way to suppress separatists feelings is to develop the valley to an extent that they themselves don't about care azadi anymore . Once the Train till Srinagar is in place there will be lot of influx of people from mainland India .

But Pakistan army have still not got over the loss of East Pakistan and have vowed revenge for that. They will not let the Kashmir problem go away and the real rulers in Pakistan are still their army.

Yeah- and it is sad for everyone including ppl of Pakistan; they should be focussed on solving the inherent problems there (so many of them) instead of this obsession
