Gunner
I'd play Ishant instead of Raina because the pitch would seam around a bit and rain looms large on all five days and we need to take 20 wickets in whatever time is available for play. Link to comment
Lord
The next best (for want of a better word) is Mukund. I'd feel more confident even with Irfan Pathan opening the batting. :hysterical::hysterical: theres Dhawan too.but again Pathan is better Link to comment
jairamesh
Stories like these: http://www.espncricinfo.com/india-v-new-zealand-2012/content/story/579889.html?CMP=chrome are very encouraging, and our curators should not spoil the party by laying out any highways this season. It's about time touring sides took the pitches seriously, and their fans stop rubbishing sub-continental players as being flat/home-track bullies. If they're so flat, how 'bout you come here and score some? There is no question of seriousness, they all take it seriously. Hell, England trained for 3 months before the Pakistan and SL series:giggle:! many of their batsmen even set-up camp in India. But they just can't play spin, just not bold enough to move their feet, lack of wrist-work, no shots besides the atypical sweep shot. Link to comment
Crookbond
The problem is wrist work as they can not manouvre the ball & rotate the strike. So, the bowler has ample time to work the batsman out. They have been hard wired to avoid wrists in their conditions as it does not help them play against swing bowling. These days batsmen have started using their feet but with the doosras and carrom balls even that is a risky option. Link to comment

surajmal
We've asked for a turning wicket, admits Dhoni MS Dhoni wasnÃÕ coy about admitting that the team had asked for a pitch with some turn at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, the venue of the second Test against New Zealand starting on Friday (August 31). Ÿe were expecting turning tracks but the last wicket (in Hyderabad) wasnÃÕ a turning track. So we put our request through. The subcontinental specialty is spin and I think we should stick to it, he said. http://www.wisdenindia.com/weve-asked-for-a-turning-wicket-admits-dhoni Link to comment
Crookbond
100% agree MS Dhoni up to the mark :hatsoff: ''You don’t have to be overconfident. That has never been the case with us. We are a team which respects opponents wherever we are playing. So whatever we did right in the first Test, we have to repeat that,” he said. “We are not experimenting. We will feature the best combination for this Test.” Link to comment
msb1991
Good move. Test matches is all about winning. Home Tests is about preparing a surface that will help you win, within reason. Progress with quick bowlers isn't and should not be made during Test matches. It should be made in training, in the gym and in domestic cricket. Link to comment
SLICKR392
This isn't new. He has said this before that curators needs to make turners in India. Link to comment

rkt.india
We win in India only because of spin bowling is really undermining the achievements of our fast bowlers at home in recent years. In 2008 against Aus, Ishant was MOS, against England Zaheer was MOS. Against NZ in 2010, the only test we won, it was Ishant who had a big role. Against SL in 2009, Sreeshant had 5-fer at Kanpur. Against SA in 2008 at Kanpur, Ishant had taken wickets on a dust bowl. In 2 tests series against Aus in 2010, it was Zaheer and Ishant who had played important roles. Against WI in Kolkata test, it was Yadav who had picked 7 wickets. Link to comment
