Indian Performance Ratings - SL Tour

There some issues with him. First of all his Kangaroo action which affects his accuracy and pace. His short balls are quick but fuller balls are slow due to that action. With that action' date=' if he does not bowl 140+, he is a cannon fodder and he does not cause he is not a quick bowler. He can bowl quick some times when he puts in extra effort but extra effort can lead to injuries as well as it had happened in IPL this year. He can be effective in T20 where he has to bowl only 4 overs in the match in 2 spells where he can put that extra effort.[/quote'] Dinda is cr@p. Period. When he was taken apart by Zimboks 2-3 years back we said he's new and will improve. Then he was r@**d by Bangbros and we went "hmmm maybe he's not that good but let's see some more". Now here he was outbowled by our part-timers in Rohit & Sehwag and was manhandled by Malinga and Loins lower order of all people!!! Surely that has to be it. If he can't even perform against Zimboks, Banbros and Loins lower order what chances does he have of performing against the likes of Aussies & Saffers? We have seen enough of him to know he doesn't belong in intl cricket. I don't recall even one spell where he actually looked decent, which even Vinay Kumar managed to do. We were able to chase 250+ scores twice in the series which only India has been able to do! SC or not, that's a sick batting lineup. Yes, outside SC will be a challenge but it's more due to us having no bowlers to make the most of bowling conditions and our batsmen have to score 300+ in good bowling conditions as well. As for Dinda read my previous response. When a bowler can't bowl with the new ball, goes for runs in the middle of the innings and is taken apart at the death and in power-plays surely the bowler has no future.

5. Dinda doesn't belong in intl cricket - Hopefully for us this is the last we see of Dinda in the Indian team. The guy is as cr@p as they come and he would find it tough to get in the Zim team and should never even get near the India A team' date= forget Team India.
I think Dinda is the sort of bowler who should stick with the India A team. He gave a couple good OD performances. Bowling in ODIs in Asia is difficult - especially for a bowler like him who relies on hitting the pitch hard. I think he is someone in which there is a chance he will improve to be a good ODI (and perhaps Test) performer.

Nope Dinda should not be anywhere near A team. A team is supposed to be the feeder into the national team and only those whom the selectors think have the potential to be in the Indian team or who are on the fringes of India selection should be in the A team. A team is not supposed to be for has-beens and those who have shown they are not good enough to cut it into the Indian team. As for bowling in SC maybe you have forgotten that Dinda did play a odi tri-series in Zimbabwe against a poor Zim side and a 2nd tier SL team with most major players rested just like what India did with Raina as captain, and Dinda was taken apart by Zim & SL B team in that tourney as well

You have posted more on Dinda than DTW has posted on Monkeysanth :hmmm: And still after all this effort, Dinda will be back for the T20 World Cup. :finger:

Don't think so. The way Kohli, who's the vice-captain, had a go at him when Malinga was taking him apart said it all. it shows what the team thinks of him and looks like it's not much different from my opinion about him.

Also see how they all celebrated and congratulated him after he got Chandimal's wicket. Simply proves how much the team loves him for being a team-man. :giggle: Kohli doesn't select the team, the selectors do. And Kohli is wise enough not to send SOSes to nehra, munaf and ishant for the T20 World cup, so Dinda probably stays. Unless he gets replaced by Vinay.

:haha: that was epic. But more or less that's his natural reaction to situation like that.:giggle: I won't read too much into that.

Indian Performance Ratings - SL Tour Just wanted to get a thread started to see how everyone rates the Top Indian Batters and bowlers for the just concluded SL tour much like Cricinfo does a review of individual performances post each major series. I'll start with my thoughts: Player Score /10 Gambhir -- 9 (did very little wrong and high performance under pressure) Sehwag -- 6 (non factor besides maybe 1 game) Kohli -- 10 (the big daddy of this series) Rahane -- 5 Raina -- 9 (+1 point for his match winning batting efforts) Rohit -- 1 (should be on his way out of the side for now) Tiwary -- 7 (did well in his limited opportunities and was the best fielder on display) Dhoni -- 7 (average outing for him; which means pretty good) Irfan -- 9 (great all-round performances with 2 straight MoM match winning awards) Rahul -- 5 (not many opportunities) Ojha -- 4 Ashwin -- 6 (nothing spectacular) Zaheer -- 6 (average performance by his high standards) Dinda -- 6 (up and down) Umesh -- 5 (up and down) So all-in-all with 4 top notch performers and a couple of strong performers, we won so comfortably. That should probably be the blueprint for success in any series/tourney (need at least 6-7 players doing very well)

As for Uthappa' date=' yup he was hard done by selectors. He performed decently well in Eng and Aus (CB series in 2008) and was dropped when Rohit has been given 80+ games and he has failed even in SC conditions  Uthappa definitely should be considered for odis along with Tiwary and Rahane in the future and would be a good lower middle order batsman.[/quote'] Don't understand this sudden clamour for Uthappa. Its not as if he was reeling ton after ton and was dropped by selectors unfairly after that. This is what his ODI log looks like: LINK Only one half century in last 23 innings completed!

performance against lanka should not be taken seriously....dhoni,kohli,raina,gambhir always scores tons of runs against lanka...I dont remember any other side against which these players are performing consistently though virat may be exception..he is consistent against other countries too....ppl forget asia cup performance and performance in cb series just after 1 good series against lanka whom india most of the times beats in subcontinent...
