Should Irfan get a chance in the NZ test series?

Should Irfan get a chance in the NZ test series?

  1. 1.

    • Yes coz he's in good form & deserves another shot in the test team.
      14
    • No his bowling is a big doubt in test matches.
      14
    • Maybe against NZ he can be experimented as we'll win anyway.

    • It's too early to select him for the test matches. He needs to do more to comeback in the test team.

Biggest weakness of NZ is raw pace irrespective of quality. From Sami to Akram all thrived against NZ due to sheer pace. They are very much used to dibbly dobbly bowlers. But raw pace. Always the weakness. So load the side with raw pace bowlers . Bombard them with pace. I know quality is not there. But NZ flunks regardless of the quality when it is pace.
Only once bowler can bowl with pace right now, Yadav. Ishant and Aaron not recovered.

Ishant has one of the best records in India fora fast bowler. He had real bad WI test series at home. Otherwise' date=' he was averaging 28 before that.[/quote'] There is no rational reason to discount that series. It was recent so if anything, it should count more.

Pak paceman always did well in NZ where conditions were tailor made for them...Im sure NZ can not be particularly good vs Spinners ...even our good but not great spinners will be more of a threat at home than our sole out and out paceman

Even Dale Steyn had a bad series in Dubai. Otherwise, Ishant has played in India since 2007 and you are talking about one bad series in which he played with ankle injury.

Our spinners did zilch last time when ZN came to India. It was Ishant who had taken 7 wickets in the test we won in that series. Most tracks will be flat, not turning and then may be rain affected. It may help fast bowlers

TBF....He did pretty decently in his last 3 test matches...probably got dumped on his ODI failures to begin with
Those matches were I guess in Australia, not India.

Why should he be there? We need bowlers, not batsman. As a bowler, I dont think he will do anything. Zak and Yadav are our front line pacers in tests for now in India.

^ He COULD be there as an allrounder of course... with regards to the spinners, yes they did zlich but they need tracks that bounce and turn not pattas to help them to bowl well.

Yadav does have pace, but my main issue with him is that he doesn't seem to have a clue about what he's doing. Agree with the people saying keep Pathan in the squad. Might come handy.
