Cricketics Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I don't want to bring Sachin into all this, but Tendulkar's century in that chennai test vs pakistan was tremendous counter attacking. I remember him hit 4 4s in a row. As we were gong down. CHAMPION KNOCK THAT ONE. AND THE NATHAN ASTLE's 222 as someone mentioned above
Trichromatic Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Gilchrist against India in Mumbai 2001 test. When he came to bat, Aussies were 99-5 and he went on to score 122 of 112 deliveries.
vvvslaxman Posted August 16, 2012 Author Posted August 16, 2012 I don't want to bring Sachin into all this, but Tendulkar's century in that chennai test vs pakistan was tremendous counter attacking. .I remember him hit 4 4s in a row. As we were gong down CHAMPION KNOCK THAT ONE. AND THE NATHAN ASTLE's 222 as someone mentioned above we were not going down. India was in commanding position to win from there. With 4 wickets to go , more than a day to spare Indiia were the favorites just before he got out.
vvvslaxman Posted August 16, 2012 Author Posted August 16, 2012 Couple of Cheeka's innings stick out in my mind. He took the attack to Patrick patterson. http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/current/match/63467.html

Sean Bradley Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 Dhonis 148 against pak in Faisalabad in 2006 was one hell of a counter attack.:hatsoff:
King Khan Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 This is a nice thread. Thx to all posters here with some utube clips as well. :icflove:
vamos_rafa Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 Not in any particular order: Dhoni 90 and 148 SRT/Azza 169/115 Gilchrist-100 something in Mumbai in 2001. SRT-92(Headingly) These were the few I could recall straightaway.
the_indian_fan Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 astle 222 - fastest test 200 of all time tino best 95 odis: kevin o brien 113 off 63 balls
Serani Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 Ian Bells 127 in the Lords test against South Africa, watch the ride folks.
Lord Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 Ian Bells 127 in the Lords test against South Africa' date=' watch the ride folks.[/quote'] while he may get the score.its certainly not counterattack
BeautifulGame Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 Ian Bells 127 in the Lords test against South Africa' date=' watch the ride folks.[/quote'] I dont think he has enough time left in the match to score that many runs.
vvvslaxman Posted August 17, 2012 Author Posted August 17, 2012 Ian Bells 127 in the Lords test against South Africa' date=' watch the ride folks.[/quote'] You call that a counter attack? :cantstop: . He is crawling at a strike rate of 37
vvvslaxman Posted August 17, 2012 Author Posted August 17, 2012 I dont think he has enough time left in the match to score that many runs. By the time he get there match would be over :haha:
Lord Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 Ian Bells 127 in the Lords test against South Africa' date=' watch the ride folks.[/quote'] 58 off 157 what a counterattack:hail:
Lurker Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 I didnt quite watch this innings completely, on radio and intermittently, but this came to mind right away. Kapil Dev's century in Chennai-Dean Jones-Tied test. Watch from 5:45 onwards http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/current/match/63438.html JYCLgJvE1Ac
vvvslaxman Posted August 17, 2012 Author Posted August 17, 2012 Sandip Patil with sore back ripped Bob willis to shreds at old trafford. Smashed him for 6 fours in an over. Brilliant 129 not out.
Cricket Tragic Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 Can't look past the SRT-Azhar in Cape Town. In terms of stroke play, it's the best partnership I've ever seen. Tendulkar's 136 wasn't an attacking knock. His 122 in 1996 is a better choice. 17/2 and behind by 100 in the first innings. He got his hundred in quick time with a six. The next best score in the top 6 was 10 or something. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssLVAZ7IIcE]Sachin Tendulkar - 122 vs. England (1996) - YouTube[/ame] 113 in Wellington is similar in a lot of ways. Behind on first innings after Doull ran through our top order on the first morning. Azhar played an incredible knock there. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fu9xloK9W7I]Sachin Tendulkar 113 Wellington v NZ 1998 - YouTube[/ame]
Cricket Tragic Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 And speaking of Azhar, he played some crazy knocks. Cal and CT have been mentioned already. 2 knocks on the 1990 tour of Ingerland - 121 at Lord's and 179 at Old Trafford. 192 in Auckland was special too. 103 in Wellington on the first morning was brilliant.
