The Realist Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 Agree they are pure passengers in the team. Contribute nothing of any value anymore, cannot even last a few overs together or even see off the opening bowlers - and this is in T20! Time to move on beyond these has-beens.
Crookbond Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 Gambhir is still valuable in ODIs as of now.
fineleg Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 Gambhir is still valuable in ODIs as of now. Not really
Crookbond Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 Not really Yes he is - check it out. Tests and T20s not sure but ODIs he has done well consistently.
saket123 Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 Yes he is - check it out. Tests and T20s not sure but ODIs he has done well consistently. Probably in the ODIs that don't matter. Typical hallmark of Indian cricketer achievements...do something when it matters the least. Kohli is an exception.. and the only shining beacon at the moment.

Kohli is an exception.. and the only shining beacon at the moment. Yeah, World Cup final doesn't matter.

The Outsider Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 He was talking about Gambhir mattering in RECENT ODI games.. . how far back do you wanna go now to prop up a case for gambhir? Which ODIs matter according to you? The ones in which Gambhir fails?
saket123 Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012  Care to explain how? I'm just venting dude.
Trichromatic Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 He was talking about Gambhir mattering in RECENT ODI games.. . how far back do you wanna go now to prop up a case for gambhir? Last ODI - 88 runs. What are you talking about?

The Outsider Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 Last ODI - 88 runs. What are you talking about? That ODI did not matter, but the one before that where he got out for 0 was a really crucial ODI where Gambhir became the typical hallmark of an Indian cricketer.
Laaloo Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 Saket is a Sachin Bhakt. He's trying to blame everything on Gambhir :haha:
