vvvslaxman Posted October 12, 2012 Author Posted October 12, 2012 Is Gayathri reddy part of the package :hmmm:
someone Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 I watched the IPL more than you and esp. DC matches. the problem with DC is that they dont have a good base to begin with. Their base was steyn, sanga, white, christian AND Duminy, Dhawan .the locals where all ordinary players. Watching matches just does not make you better if you don't use your brains. DC had arguably one of the best teams at least on paper on the pre-tournament. You can probably check the prediction threads here to see how DC were rated. Terrible hindsight and absolutely no reasons to blame the owners.

DC were rated one of the weakest teams on paper before tournament started and it proved right too. They even sold Peterson and Ohja their two star players which shows how they cared for the team.
yoda Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 DC won IPL 2, yet chose to not retain even a single player for season 4. Their downfall started then. Why will you let a guy like Gilly go?
IKnowU Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 DC won IPL 2' date=' yet chose to not retain even a single player for season 4. Their downfall started then. Why will you let a guy like Gilly go?[/quote'] :((:((:(( That was a painful moment for deccan fans, they fked the fans over and themselves. No direction at all. The team better stay in in Hyderabad otherwise its a joke from BCCI to move it to a new city because of the new buyers request.

IKnowU Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 From now on BCCI should only accept entities that are only major companies and agree to a minimum of 5/10yr lease of the franchise. :isalute: Modi The ship would have been running ever so smooth if he was still at the helm.
JourneyMan Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 The blame lies with the coach more than anyone else, he was rubbish. I agree that DC don't have the strongest squad, but if the team selection is right you can overcome this. Steyn and Duminy were the best foreign players, yet Duminy wasn't played in many matches. Sanga was completely useless, and just wasted a foreign slot, and Dan Christian was pathetic as well. White was actually decent overall, even though he had some bad games, and should have been batting higher up the order. DC showed their potential, especially when they knocked RCB out of the tournament, but it was too little too late. It annoys me greatly that they're out, because I unconditionally supported them (regional reasons ;) ) and the IPL will feel incomplete without them. I was really hopeful at the end of the last IPL because Ishant was expected to be back for the upcoming edition, and with Ishant/Steyn leading the attack and Amit Mishra/JP Duminy backing them up with some spin, they could have overcome their biggest weakness which was bowling.

PaceAttack Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 No team for Hyderabad? Come on...A population of 80 to 90 million people would be left alone.

1983-2011 Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 Hyderabadis shouldnt feel dismayed, they've still got their own Hyderabad cricket team in domestic cricket.
Lord Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 No team for Hyderabad? Come on...A population of 80 to 90 million people would be left alone. new team will represent Hyderabad AFAIK
velu Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 Is Gayathri reddy part of the package :hmmm: buyers then will be :yay:
JourneyMan Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 well the new team will also be from same region Yeah but once a team grows on you, a new one won't be the same to start off with. It will take a few years for it to become a true replacement.
