Punjab is likely to have a very young team. Mandeep Singh, Sarul Kanwar, Sandeep Sharma, and Amitoze Singh are the youngsters in the team. Sarul is a bit of a slasher and it would be interesting to see how he has developed. A good Ranji season for Mandeep would further enhance his reputation. He still has a few chinks to iron out me thinks and it is the right age to fix these and further expand his cricketing shots. Amitoze had a fairly good season with the bat and ball...another youngster to watch out for Punjab. Even the captain, Mayank Sidhana, is fairly young. I think he probably transferred from Delhi. I'd like Uday Kaul to take wicket keeping again to strengthen that middle order.. The likes of Mannan Vohra, Brainder Sran and VRV might get a game or two. Karan Goel, Ravi Inder Singh haven't really taken it to the next level....have gotten starts but just not consistent enough. Gony is likely to lead the pace attack backed up by Harmeet Singh, Navdeep Sidhu or Sandeep Sharma...maybe a game or two for Brainder Sran. Looking for some good bowlers this time around.

Brainder Sran might play more games than Harmeet, Navdeep, or Sandeep Sharma. He is a left hand pacer and is quickest of them all and had better start than them too.

DO WE HAVE ANY VIDEOS OF Brainder Sran ' date=' FASTER THEN GONY, VRV, any info on him[/quote'] No info. Akash Chopra had talked about him. Gony has decent pace but VRV is not that fast now and I said faster than Sandeep, Harmeet, and Navdeep, not sure about faster than Gony as he is only a 19 year old.

Heavy rains force Irani Cup out of Jaipur

The Irani Cup fixture has been moved from Jaipur after the BCCI grounds and pitches committee chairman reported the conditions "unplayable" upon inspection. Venkat Sundaram, the committee chairman, visited the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Saturday and found the venue unsuitable for the September 21 domestic season opening clash between defending champions Rajasthan and Rest of India, despite desperate measure being put by the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA). "Because of heavy rains the playing conditions are not likely to improve," Sanjay Jagdale, BCCI secretary, told ESPNcricinfo. "Venkat Sundaram inspected the outfield and the wicket today and felt it would not be playable in the short period. We are now in the process of finding an alternate venue." Sundaram, who inspected the ground for about an hour in the morning, was "concerned" about the pitch, which he felt was in no condition to stage the match. "The outfield could be improved. But he [sundaram] felt it would be difficult to prepare the pitch in time - it needs top dressing which would mean at least four to six weeks of work," an RCA official said. "There is lot of water on and around the pitch still due to the rains. There was also fungus on the grass as the ground was locked for two months," the official said. Sundaram advised the groundsman and the RCA officials, including secretary KK Sharma, to take necessary measures to make the ground match fit for the rest of the season. The news would come as a setback for the RCA, which had been embroiled in a stalemate with the Rajasthan Sports Council (owners of the ground) since July and had been allowed entry to the ground only earlier this week. Despite not having access to the ground for two months, Taposh Chatterjee, the head groundsman at the RCA, was confident about getting the ground ready for the match. However, the inclement weather posed a threat to the preparation. "The biggest challenge would be the weather. Otherwise we are confident to get the ground ready in a couple of weeks," an RCA official had said on Tuesday.

Hows the Robin Bist guy' date=' had a great season last year, not heard anything about him since[/quote'] He is one of the slowest players I have ever seen , even in domestic his strike rate is below 30 lol, strokeless wonder, I would play Harbhajan as a batsmen then him, based on what I have seen.

First Class SR's are hard to find but put that up against some Test SRs and it is not awful. Dravid - 42.51 Kohli - 49.78 Lazman - 49.37

The games I have seen him play last year he was pathetic, he doesn't have any strokes to talk off, just a domestic bully.Rajasthan team is pathetic in general, they did well because of A Chopra, Kantikar, and luck, did not even pay the pros their due, just ground the opposition on pattas.

Have you seen VRV bowl post-injury?
Not this time after this injury, but I had seen him last time he had bowled and at that time too he was coming back from injury. He was barely clocking 130K.

The test squad I wanna see by the end of this season Murali Vijay no denying his talent and ease with which he plays good bowlers, yes he has to work on discipline. Gambhir well he needs to re learn to play test innings. Rohit he could be as good as any one is test's, Rahane cannot deny his stats. Sehwag down the order. Virat he might go on to be among the worlds best batsmen this year with his talent and form. Pujara is calm and composed and will be a good test bat. Yuvraj hmm a punt. Unmukt lol maybe we have our next g8. Sachin of old only Irfan many times a btter batsmen then most people batting for India in test's against fast bowlers and fast wickets. Ashwin the only good bowler we have currently. Ojha R Sharma has the talent and could be our next Kumble. Aaron if fit. Ishant as we have invested enough in him and he could find form thsi season, also he is experienced and needs good guidance,he could be very successful in test's. Suyal/Anwar whoever has a good season. Shami might be the spark our bowling needs. VRV, TYAGI,Gony are three bowlers coming back from injury and if fully fit and whoever bowls well could be our more experienced bowler who can be prepared for test's. Saha as keeper this guy can keep a lot better then Dhoni and is a very good technically correct and talented batsmen and a fighter too.

Four cricketers resign en-masse from MCA Published: Tuesday, Oct 9, 2012, 8:58 IST By Taus Rizvi | Place: Mumbai | Agency: DNA Mumbai Cricket Association was shaken on Monday as four former players tendered resignations. Cricket Improvement Committee (CIC) members Balwinder Singh Sandhu, Nilesh Kulkarni and Karsan Ghavri resigned from the committee while Milind Rege stepped down as a selector. The MCA establishment was stunned by the development. An MCA official tried to play down the issue stating that the resignations were not due to problems with the association. “An incident happened in the last CIC meeting and the cricketers are really hurt. Hence they decided to give up their posts,” said a senior official. Sandhu said he was unhappy with the treatmentmeted out to former cricketers. “CIC is there to improve cricket in Mumbai. The suggestion given by Test cricketers are not acceptable or appreciated by the committee. Nor areeffortsmade to implement the suggestions. In such a scenario, I find it difficult to continue,” he said. Nilesh Kulkarni echoed Sandhu’s views. “I have resigned on moral grounds. My objective was to do my best for Mumbai cricket with honesty but discovered a different kind of atmosphere here,” said Kulkarni. It is learnt Rege, who was the chairman of the selection committee last year, was not happy with the changes made in the committee. Despite being the senior most, the post of the chairman was given to Abey Kuruvilla, who is junior to him. Even after Sandip Patil’s appointment as Mumbai’s chief selector on Friday, Rege was not given the charge in absence of Patil. “Despite giving so many years to Mumbai cricket, it is really humiliating with the treatment given to the cricketers,” he said. MCA president Ravi Sawant said that the matter would be looked into. “We have got the resignation of Rege and Sandhu which will be forwaded to the managing committee. They haven’t really specified the reasons,” said Sawant MCA, DDCA, GCA, three so called big state associations a big time joke, MCA might be the worst , whenever politicians and low lives get into sports lol, selections for Duleep, Mumbai , domestic tourneys are a joke.

The Duleep trophy selections are pathetic , all five teams have trundlers only , no Shami, Gony, Abu Nechim, Anwar Ahmed, how will the young talent prove their worth, we will see all 120 trundlers bowling lol. Unlike Australia where injured players who have performed well and making a comeback or players who have played limited matvhes but g8 success , the dumbo's out here just check stats and pickup teams lol, will I select SHAMI OVER SAY some trundlers who has played all the games and taken more wickets at higher strike rate or a talented youngster who has played limited games but had great success and then was out with injury, Suyal, Tyagi, VRV, SHAMI, ANWAR, ABU, GONY should be in their zonal teams .

Ambati Rayudu deserves a mention. The guy has all the talent in the world and was billed a big prospect when he was younger but lost his way because of politics and a bit of indiscipline.
