rageaddict Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 come on lads, Yuvraj is much better Odi batsman than Dravid . Atleast take a look at Dravids mighty s/r instead of his overall runs .

Jersey #10 Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 How is Gambhir ahead of Yuvraj and Sehwag? I personally rate Gambhir > Yuvraj as far as batting is concerned. As an ODI player I'd rate Yuvraj maybe second or third.
Magneto Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 1. Sachin 2. Dhoni 3. Ganguly 4. Yuvraj 5. Gambhir
Ram Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 1. Sachin 2. Dhoni 3. Ganguly 4. Yuvraj 5. Gambhir By and large, I agree with your list, but with some changes. I'd put Yuvraj ahead of Ganguly at 4 and Dravid at 5. I dont think Gambhir has done enough yet to seal a place in the top 5. P.S; Virat Kohli is zooming up that list at the speed of light.

Even I was a bit torn between Ganguly and Yuvraj at No.3, but finally I decided on Ganguly at 3 because (I'm going by memory here) I think Ganguly has been more consistent than Yuvraj throughout his career. Regarding the No.5 spot, Dravid may have piled up more runs than Gambhir, but I still look up to Gambhir as more of an impact player. I also admire him for the way he made his final comeback in 2007 after being dropped 'n' number of times. You're spot on regarding Kohli; the way he's going he'll surely grab the No.1/No.2 position in a few years from now.

Gambhir against SL and minnows Matches : 53 Runs : 2514 Avg : 54.65 SR : 88.11 100s : 8 Home avg : 57.62 Away avg : 49.12 Neutral avg : 62.42 Gambhir against rest of the teams Matches : 86 Runs : 2563 Avg : 32.85 SR : 84.14 100s : 3 Home avg : 36.69 Away avg : 29.52 Neutral avg : 25.81

He's averaged 31 against Australia, which is poor. His average of 34 against Pak looks okay to me, and he's played only 3 matches against S Africa (too less to be judged on). So Australia is the only team against whom he's been ordinary. He's been pretty pathetic against WI as well, but who cares about WI anyway. :beee:
Magneto Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Its still on? Nope. The trolls who were arguing Zaheer vs Kohli have been banned for a week.
zakk Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 1 - Sachin 2 - Dravid 3 - Ganguly 4 - Azhar 5 - Yuvraj 6 - Sehwag 7 - Dhoni 8 - Gambhir 9 - Kohli 10 - Jadeja
