I am not saying that same change wouldn't have happened if I had continued to sit in same posture, but you can not brush away what happened. :hysterical::hysterical: No words for discussion on this thread.

You are twisting words here - most of us said that it was a proactive piece of judgment. It does not mean he is "crucial" in T20. Also, Ram's comment was promptly debunked - by me at least.

Ram is right here. Dhoni's entry to the batting also results in a lot of non tangible benefits to the team. The opposition knows that Dhoni is a destroyer and would be forced to prematurely use their best bowlers to contain him when he is introduced. That way during the PP overs or the latter overs, the not so best guys are bowling to whoever is around for us. Dhoni has that effect on a team.

So says somebody who thinks Nayan Mongia was a better test batsmen than Dhoni and then ranked Suresh Raina, who played all of 3 games in the WC (and maybe faced less than 70-80 deliveries in the entire tournament), ahead of Dhoni when it came to ranking people by the order their contribution to our WC win. :hysterical: I am sorry dude, in my opinion, your credibility when it comes to opinion on Dhoni is lesser than Shoonya!

PaceAttack Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Dumb thread. He is the best available option we have. His reflexes are still very good to even think of retiring.
Trichromatic Posted September 27, 2012 Author Posted September 27, 2012 Dumb thread. He is the best available option we have. His reflexes are still very good to even think of retiring. Do you really think Karthik and Saha can't bat with SR higher than or equal to 110?
Ram Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 Can you quote where I said that? Let's see how you stand up on the credibility test. What are you trying to imply here? I would happily take that one fifty per year if it's an innings like Mongia played at Chennai or Kotla rather than the meaningless dross that FTB Ultra keeps on making in the name of test match batting. That the sun rises in the West? :hysterical:
badmash Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 MSD is a great T20 captain...yes i said it..His impulsive decision making skill is an asset to the indian team. MSD always tries to makes the right decisions, it is up to the players to capture the moment. How many of you thought that the last over shouldn't have been given to that bowler in the 2007 T20WC? He sees the weakness in a batsmen and makes the appropriate decision..it is up to his players to bowl according to his plan. YES I SAID IT...wonder how much bashing this comment will get think about it...he lead a team with a trundliest of the trundling bowling attack to actually win the worldcup..all due to his quick changes and field placings
someone Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 Imo, the problem here lies in that fact that there are certain Indian supporters who are just waiting for Dhoni to fail. Or to put it in better terms, want Dhoni to fail. Only then, they would start making threads about Dhoni needs to go away from all formats of cricket. Jealously, bias are some of the factors in their thinking.

No no the problem is dhoni fanboys are so delusional they think when we win its because of dhoni and when we lose our team sucks.Nobody cares if he captains t20 or odis just leave tests for gods sake have some shame msd.

Yes of course, we can blast Sehwag all we want, we can dig into Zaheer, we can pummel Gambhir every day, but any criticism of Dhoni has to do with jealousy and bias When India wins, he is the two time world cup winning captain, but when his team loses, he is not the losing captain, his team is the losing team

Trichromatic Posted September 28, 2012 Author Posted September 28, 2012 Dhoni fans are following Sachin fans' path. When team used to win, it was because of his great batting and when team lost they blamed team, bowlers, tail-enders etc.

The Outsider Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 What are you trying to imply here? That the sun rises in the West? :hysterical: Quite simply what is written there - that the kind of innings played by Mongia at Chennai or Kotla have not been bettered by Dhoni. Laxman's 281 being the best innings played by an Indian does not imply that Laxman is the best Indian batsman. This should help you as well: Yes. They are all much better keepers than Dhoni and Dhoni is no Gilchrist that the difference in keeping can be made by being a better batsman in case of Kirmani, Mongia, and More while Engineer was even a better batsman than Dhoni or at worse roughly equal. Perhaps too much emotional leading for you these days?

Individuals become more important than the team in India.
Raghav_12 Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 Dhoni fans are following Sachin fans' path. When team used to win' date=' it was because of his great batting and when team lost they blamed team, bowlers, tail-enders etc.[/quote'] There is huge difference. Contribution of captaincy is intangible which contribution through batting is tangible. If Sachin scored a ton and India won, Sachin will get credit. If Sachin scored a ton but got no support and India lost, team would be blamed rightfully. But nowhere in life Sachin get credit for Zaheer's wicket or Rohit Sharma's 50. But with Dhoni, case is different. Zaheer gets wickets then Dhoni used his resources very well and got wickets for India. If Zaheer doesn't get wicket - Zaheer is stupid.
