Saqlain the test bowler announced himself in Ind 99.
Absolutely, he was mesmerizing, 20 wickets in 2 tests against India at home is phenomenal, especially at a time when we carted around any half decent spin bowler

Kohli - at Perth vs Australia 2012 Till that test, people were calling him a FTB, mediocre, cant play decent bowling etc. That one innings shut every armchair critic up :cantstop:

What do you think the best series for a given player? Vengsarkar 1986 English Tour
Actually I feel this should be the 83-84 series against WI. I was following the series as a big fan of Marshall and needless to say, Vengsarkar getting out gave me the most joy :) Dilip was in terrific form, scoring 14 & 65 at Kanpur, 159 & 63 at Delhi, sat out Ahmd and another 100 at Bombay. After Test 5 we had: Vengsarkar 425 runs @ 60.71 Gavaskar 269 @ 26.90 Gavaskar dazzled with that 121 and 90 but also fell cheaply. To me DBV was the man. He was in great nick too in the ODIs from this series on.
