saneindian Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 As much as Dhoni and the team management try to say that Sehwag and Zak were rested for the last game vs England, it's clear that they were both dropped due to non performance. Will be interesting to see how these two seniors respond to this decision. If anything, I hope it wakes them up and makes them realize that they have been taking their place for granted in team India. Hopefully if they get picked in the rest of the tournament, they come back with a better intensity and a real desire to do well rather than just going through the motions which they have been doing for a long time now.
rkt.india Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 The were not dropped. They were requested to be rested to try other players that is what Dhoni had said in his press conference. Sehwag still did better than Gambhir in the first match.
Sean Bradley Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 They werent dropped, they gave way to dinda and chawla to test the bench, Not impressed by what Dinda and Chawla have up their sleeves... Zaheer and viiru will be back for sooopa Aite !
Zero_Unit Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 it's T20, anyone can have a bad day. Why so harsh
Gunner Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Zaheer will play the upcoming matches. Dunno about Sehwag though.
JourneyMan Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 They'll drive down to the nearest Dhabba and have an eating contest.

Sidhoni Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 MS mentioned in post match presentation that he "requested" senior players to sit out.
Crookbond Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 ^ That was to avoid CB series like press conferences.

Haarkarjeetgaye Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Sehwag by taking up commentary and Zaheer by opening a pace academy. The biggest fear for a cricketers retirement in India is the money. Most of them come back or want to come back for money in some way or the other
