What could fletcher have done to get players like gambhir, tendulkar, Sehwag, dhoni to score? Or gotten ashwin or Bhajji to take wickets? Very easy to blame it all on the coach but Kristen was lucky the team he got wasn't this bad. under Kristen sehwag tendulkar gambhir and laxman all were scoring runs, now they arn't. With players like that you can't blame their success or failures on the coach.

This is the pile of crap that has been saving his spot till now.

Cook another story ToI. Indian players will be more than happy under a coach like Failtcher. We may criticise him but 99% people in his position will do the same. 1. He is not an Indian fan or ex-Indian player, he doesn't have any concerns with Indian cricket, and he knows once he leaves the job nobody is gonna ask him much about that as he won't be India. 2. He has no powers or authority, he is there as senior players poodle, if he tries to gain it, he will be fired. While sitting quietly, he will make millions. So yes he will sit quietly. 3. Last question is of morality to do your job sincerely, we can say he is not sincere towards his job but why would one care if his employers don't give two hoots and whole system is plunderers paradise. I am in no favor of Fletcher but things won't improve just if they sack him.

Indias biggest accomplishment during that number 1 phase (winning in england) happened before He even took control. South africa also was doing well before Kristen took over. Do you think tendulkar and co would be scoring runs had kirsten kept coaching?

Kirsten considered Fletcher to be a mentor....Also Flower has taken the England team to the next level but most English fans consider Fletcher to lay the foundation of English Cricket for what it is today, much like we attribute Indian team's success to Wright and Ganguly. I think,if any Kirsten's stint of being more reactive after Chappel Fiasco has done more harm if any as any new foregin coach would think that sitting back and biding his time is the best way to do his job...worked for Kirsten as team was doing well...unfortunately for Fletcher the team has been on a downward spiral. I am sure if he came in with a different mindset than Kirsten, things would have been different

Also Fletcher is attributed to change the County over Country mindset that effected English cricket for a long time...Can you imagine if he tried to change the philosphy that Indian cricket is run on much like Chappell

Lol at blaming him for not being able to stop Dravid getting bowled, damn Fletcher has no fountain of youth to restore Dravids eye sight and hand eye coordination to what it used to be.

But we can blame him for his ineptness. Thanks for telling us hitherto unknown fact of coach don't actually play.. oh i thought phil jackson was actually playing for Lakers. This standard BS excuse of coaches can't do much, coach don't actually play.. blah blah is a nice cop out for coach.

He is useless, never seen any coach of Indian team not saying a word at all in media. Even John Wright and Gary Kirsten used to say something atleast! Needs to be sacked immediately, he has come here to destroy the team.

Whats a coach supposed to do when Our superstars aren't scoring runs or takings wickets?

Dravid in his interview has clearly mentioned what he thinks about Fletcher, Kirsten and their difference in styles of coaching. Probably - one should go through the interview & read between the lines (considering Dravid is generally a 'nice' guy).

One of the reasons for hiring Fletcher was that he would be like a father figure and guide the next generation of players after the veterans leave. But so far the team is still filled with several passenger oldies and Fletcher's term might be finished before they leave.
