Trundler27 Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 I predict: Warner Cowan Watson Hughes Clarke Khawaja Wade Siddle Pattinson Beer Lyon Come on, we should beat this tripe. Zaheer? I don't know about Zaheer man..... if he is not fit enough to play the ranji finals then i wouldn't count on him making it for the first test.... dhobi might persist with his policy of playing to 'his' strength and hence giving chawla, jaddu, et al another outing
cowboysfan Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 The aussies have better players of spin than the poms and Ashwin has regressed staggeringly,i am bracing for a white wash.
Sooda Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Just to be different... Mukund Gambhir Pujara Kohli Rahane Ashwin Saha Bhuvneshwar Yadav Zaheer Ojha Rohit, Nadeem, Shami Ahmed, Vijay
Vivek.S.123 Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Weren't you the one who blamed Fletcher for everything and said Dhoni is the best man? :hmmm: Sorry Typo
bharat297 Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Mukund Rahane / Sehwag Pujara Tendulkar Kohli R.Sharma Dhoni © Ashwin Shami / B.Kumar / Zaheer (if 100% fit ... we can't have him leaving midway through the match) Ojha Yadav
diga Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 The aussies have better players of spin than the poms and Ashwin has regressed staggeringly' date='i am bracing for a white wash.[/quote'] I think reverse swing will be the key during the dry Feb/March... Series will be decided by the following in that order for me.. 1. Indian batsmen's contribution 2. Aussie bowlers 3. Yadav/Zaheers fitness
Spiderguy252 Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Australia don't have "better players of spin" than England. In hindsight, Cook, Pietersen and Prior scoring runs didn't surprise me. By the same proviso, the only guy I can see scoring runs is Clarke. Cowan and Marsh and Khawaja and people like that are hacks against the turning ball but I suspect someone like Warner might get lucky one innings out of the eight and end up with maybe a 70/80 score.
Muloghonto Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 IIRC Pattinson is out for rest of the Aussie summer. AUS will also probably play this for a starting XI: Cowan Warner Hughes Khwaja Clarke* Watson Wade+ Starc/Johnson Siddle Beer/Hilfenhaus/Bird Lyon
Spiderguy252 Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Clarke should bat at #4 IMO. And they'll play 2 spinners for sure lest they get blown up like the Poms did with Bresnan in test #1 at AMD.
diga Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Clarke should bat at #4 IMO. And they'll play 2 spinners for sure lest they get blown up like the Poms did with Bresnan in test #1 at AMD. If watson plays as a batsman, then he will bat #4... Khwaja will play @6. Too many lefties in there.
jj_28 Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Gambhir/Rahane Sehwag Pujara Tendulkar Kohli Tiwary (he can be the perfect no.6 for India) Ashwin Zaheer/Kumar Umesh Ojha
vamos_rafa Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Gambhir/Rahane Sehwag Pujara Tendulkar Kohli Tiwary (he can be the perfect no.6 for India) Ashwin Zaheer/Kumar Umesh Ojha No WK?
diga Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Gambhir/Rahane Sehwag Pujara Tendulkar Kohli Tiwary (he can be the perfect no.6 for India) Ashwin Zaheer/Kumar Umesh Ojha No WK? only 10 players there... implied that MSD is the skip/WK
adi B Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 ^ Yadav will be fit by the Aus tour. He already is good to go and has started net sessions. :two_thumbs_up: my team pujara sehwag kohli sachin(terrible form, just final chance) rahane rohit saha ashwin(just bcoz his batting comes handy) ojha yadav zak(since aussies have too many lefties) shami 12th man
Lord Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 No WK? Sehwag?that way he wont have to run:hmmm:
SLICKR392 Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Sehwag?that way he wont have to run:hmmm: :cantstop: And he dives around pretty well.
Lord Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 :cantstop: And he dives around pretty well. lets not go there:--D
vamos_rafa Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Sehwag?that way he wont have to run:hmmm: :hysterical: Sehwag would retire by lunch in the 1st session of 1st day.
SLICKR392 Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 :hysterical: Sehwag would retire by lunch in the 1st session of 1st day. :hysterical: Ashwin can take over as his bowling is crap in Tests. These 2 can shift gloves each session.
