Also, cops in Berkeley don't give a damn about pot since medical marijuana is legal and you are unlikely to come across any Federal cops there.

Admittedly, this is not a problem in India or the third world (where vehicular insurance isn't mandatory or even prevalent) but it is a huge problem in the first world. basically, the gist of it is this: Marijuana is one of the very few drugs that persists in your system for weeks and months ( Cocaine/Heroin for example, completely clears from your system in 72 hours and thus, sportsmen who are into drugs dabble in Cocaine- it runs through your system and is undetectable & ineffective on you after 72 hours, which is practically in-between games for most sports schedules). What this means, is that if you got stoned out of your skull on a Saturday, slept all day Sunday, drove to work on Monday completely sober but got into a car crash, there is no way to prove whether yuo are driving under influence or not, for your bloodwork will show almost identical levels of THC in it as it would if it were the said Saturday evening. So the problem, atleast in the first world, is how do you work out vehicular insurance, when you cannot differentiate between someone DUI and someone who is not high but was 2 days ago.

Personally i think i have become more thoughtful after the use of MJ. @ Topic, i think Marijuana is not legal yet moresoever becuase the govt. does not want a thinking citizen, they would rather have citizen drinkign alcohol and fighting amongst eachtoher.
