Nova Posted December 12, 2012 Author Posted December 12, 2012 The BCCI constitution is flawed. The President, according to the constitution, has veto powers and thus, can overrule the selectors' decisions. Watch this video: Amarnath talking about it http://www.ndtv.com/video/player/news/former-selector-amarnath-on-why-dhoni-should-be-sacked/258042?hp
The Outsider Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 The BCCI constitution is flawed. The President, according to the constitution, has veto powers and thus, can overrule the selectors' decisions. It's always been like this and is supposed to be a ceremonial power as I mentioned in another thread. Just like the President of India can send back a law passed by the parliament. However, it's not supposed to be used like this in spirit.

Shunya Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Well' date=' it might not had been bad idea if they tried to test a captain in ODIs first.[/quote'] I feel he is one of the main reasons we are good in ODIs... but definitely had to change in Tests...which obviously dint happen...

saket123 Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Why is a Cement Manufacturer put at the helm of BCCI presidency? Why is BCCI presidency stooped the level of being just a bureaucratic administrator with unlimited powers that any non-cricketer with no cricketing experience or real cricketing knowledge be allowed to run it? This is a direct result of our culture of nepotism and corruption. Most Indian people are like sheep.. they always want a "Leader" to get anything done.. and they idolize and put these nitwits up on a pedastal only to later on realize he is nothing but a thieving whoring scumbag.
Brainfade Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 How do we know Mohinder is not stirring the pot for some personal gain/free publicity? I trust no one.

Since Pak,SL,Bang don't count as we have the same culture here you go same as the Head of ECB is an investment banker and businessman. same as the Head of Cricket Australia is a lawyer

Cement manufacturer has been supporting domestic cricket in Chennai for a very long time. His company runs some club level tournaments since a very long time.
saket123 Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Cement manufacturer has been supporting domestic cricket in Chennai for a very long time. His company runs some club level tournaments since a very long time. Yea, I know.. he is also the head of the local cricketing agency I believe.. but my point is.. Companies support the sport purely for advertisement purposes. Not because they have vested interest in the prosperity of the game itself. They piggy back on the success of the sport to proliferate their product.. and that shouldn't mean that highest corporate bidder should be given the top most position to run a sport in a nation.
Manny_Pacquiao Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Since Pak,SL,Bang don't count as we have the same culture here you go same as the Head of ECB is an investment banker and businessman. same as the Head of Cricket Australia is a lawyer THERE IS NOTHING WRONG with a person from the outside being in charge. a lot goes into running a cricket board and it can benefit from people of different expertise. the issue here is of INTERFERENCE in cricket-related matters. this president should not be getting in the way of the selectors who are trying to do a job to the best of their ability. they are the ones with the experience and knowledge to decide on who plays and who doesn't. its this sort of interference that seemingly happens in india and nowhere else.
CG Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 I feel he is one of the main reasons we are good in ODIs... but definitely had to change in Tests...which obviously dint happen... :cantstop: We were whitewashed in england 5-0,Lost to south africa 3-2,could not make cb series finals, lost back to back asia cups,Humiliated in champions trophy,Lost 3 world t20s . We are a average odi side .
diga Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Will the selectors grow a spine & sack Dhoni again?
zep1706 Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Will the selectors grow a spine & sack Dhoni again? Srini is still the president. He won't let it happen. In fact now everyone has seen Srini's mafia raj and how vindictive he is. In 2012 the selectors probably weren't aware of that. Now the selectors wouldn't even dare to propose it.
Midfielder Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 If this true this is a breach of conduct and he should be fired. Sirni is a nuisance if he is so power drunk.
CG Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 If this true this is a breach of conduct and he should be fired. Sirni is a nuisance if he is so power drunk. who will fire him ?
Midfielder Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 who will fire him ? You are correct but at least there should be an outrage.
zep1706 Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 It's sad that the standards of Indian cricket has been set so low that after losing so many away tests the captain comes up and say that we are playing well and there is absolutely no consequence. Makes me sick, really.
beetle Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 This is the reason I have started hating Dhoni. He looks like a corrupt power hungry politician. His cricketing decisions one can still live with. He is like indian cricket's Rahul Gandhi and Robert Vadra rolled into one.....and unlike them ...no one has a vote to kick him out.
