Texy Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 I'm afraid all this is just to pacify media and people. Kuch nehi hoga. He's probably getting VIP treatment in "jail." I'm sure he knew well in advance that he'll get arrested..hence trip to England...perhaps seeking asylum in Luton?
Jersey #10 Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 I was in Gujarat during the Hindu - Muslim riots. All these "freedom of speech" advocates wouldn't be talking if they had first and experience of the consequences. If you watch the video, there is tens of thousands of people cheering this hate speech. It could easily instigate into something terrible.
suraj Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Can't some Shiv Sainiks or RSS sevaks- who claim to be protectors of Hindutva & Bharat mahan- sneak into same jail and cut the tongue of this bastard; if they really wanna act macho and show himmat now is the time and this kinda person is the one they should be showing it against. oh wait I forgot they are occupied getting couple of girls arrested for FB posts & blaming women for brininging rape upon themselves by not staying at home like "adarshwadi" women should. Texy Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Elder brother claims this to be a conspiracy hatched by Congress in association with BJP to malign the MIM party. WTF dude? There is a VIDEO of your brother giving a hate speech....how can it be a conspiracy?

Mariyam Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Owaisi faces arrest' date= security beefed up in Hyderabad http://www.rediff.com/news/report/owaisi-faces-arrest-security-beefed-up-in-hyderabad/20130108.htm Looks like Hyd Poilice have decided to arrest Owaisi. That would set good precedence and going forward all usual suspects like Raj Thakare, Togadiya or others would remain under scanner. From the link you've posted: After much drama the Andhra Pradesh police on Tuesday have finally arrested Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen Member of Legislative Assembly Akbaruddin Owaisi for his alleged hate speech. This is not an allegation, the hate speech is there on youtube for all to see. Absolutely shoddy and misleading reporting right there.
ravishingravi Posted January 11, 2013 Author Posted January 11, 2013 From the link you've posted: This is not an allegation, the hate speech is there on youtube for all to see. Absolutely shoddy and misleading reporting right there. Yeah but doesn't it need to be proved.
surajmal Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 LetÃÔ talk to Owaisi, not jail him! WHAT has worried me most about the manner in which Akbaruddin Owaisi's latest hate speech has been dealt with is that everyone appears to have missed the point. It is not his being jailed that matters but what he said in his speech and more than his speech what matters is the applause it evoked form his huge audience. It is the huge crowds that greeted him at Hyderabad airport when he returned from London that we need to think about and not the condemnation of his speech by Muslims of liberal bent. Incidentally, it is intriguing that a man with such an Islamist approach to life should go to a godless, Western city like London at all but to analyze why so many dedicated Islamists flock to London for holidays and healthcare would need a separate column, so today I am going to stick to analyzing OwaisiÃÔ speech. 'Communal' viewpoint What makes the speech important is not that Owaisi made it. He is a provincial politician of no current national relevance and so many of my more 'secular' brethren will I am sure label me 'communal' for even bothering to analyze it. But, according to my 'Communal' viewpoint what makes the speech important is that it reflects the thinking of a worryingly large number of lower middle class, semi-educated Indian Muslims. I have met them in the bazaars of Moradabad and Lucknow and in the bazaars of Delhi and Mumbai and what has annoyed me every time is their contempt for India. This comes out in exactly the way Owaisi said it in his speech and this is what makes this speech so important. At one point in his diatribe against India and Indians, he said that those who said Muslims should go to another country did not realize that if they went they would take with them the Taj Mahal, the Red Fort and the Qutab Minar. "And, what will be left here then? A broken Ram temple in Ayodhya and some naked statues in Ajanta and Ellora". Analyze this comment and you see what ordinary Muslims across the Indian sub-continent have long believed that there was nothing worth preserving of India's ancient civilization. Until Islam arrived, they believe, India was a cultural and civilizational desert and if you try arguing that this is illiterate rubbish, as I often have done, then the conversation ends or the subject gets changed. We should have been talking of these things long ago but because in the interests of 'secularism' the contribution of ancient India to the civilization of the world is ignored in Indian schools there are not enough Hindus who can talk about it. Muslims, on the other hand, have their history hammered into their heads from the time they are small children in the 'madrassa' and even at home so they have a confidence about who they are. This would be fine if it stopped there, but it is usually accompanied by contempt for India because of a deep disdain for the Hindus religion with its polytheism and its idols. This brings us to the part of his speech for which Owaisi is now in jail. He said to cheers and derisive laughter from his audience, ŵhey have many gods Ram, Lakshman, Durga, Ganesha and every month they give birth to a new one. Who is Bhagyalakshmi but leave it, I do not want to ruin the auspicious atmosphere of this gathering by taking their abominable names. Then came more insults about how Hindus and their ÃÔacred mother cow that they sell in the bazaars, and that the police permit until Muslims come forward to buy them. If Muslims did not eat beef, he added contemptuously, then the ÃÃŽata of the Hindus would eat up every blade of grass in India and it would become a desert. Analyze this part of the speech and what you find is not just scorn for India's main religious traditions, but a hatred of them. Yet if someone like me (and I am not a Hindu) ever dares point out in my columns that there are flaws in the Islamic idea that it alone has all the religious answers or that it is hard in the 21st century to believe in prophets and revealed religions then I get labeled ÃÄommunal? Instead of labeling, if we discussed the ideas of men like Akbaruddin Owaisi we would find that it would give us a chance to understand what India should stand for and stand up against. The fundamental idea of India is that, despite being mostly Hindu in population, it stands for freedom of worship and that this necessarily entails respect for everyone's religious ideas, no matter how stupid they may be. So although Owaisi's speech would have been acceptable, and applauded, in Saudi Arabia it has no place in India. It is unfortunate that because of a dominance of leftists and liberals in India's intellectual space these things are not only never acknowledged but viewed as politically incorrect. Please remember that the party to which Akbaruddin Owaisi belongs, that is virtually his family party, the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Musalmeen (MIM) was until recently a member of the UPA government. The Congress Party flaunts its disdain for 'communal' Hindu political parties, but never hesitates to ally with dangerously sectarian Muslim groupings, including the one in Kerala that was responsible for chopping off a teacher's hand because they objected to a text on the Prophet Mohammed. Mindset of Muslims Akbaruddin Owaisi's speech gives us a chance to start a discussion on whether Islamism is acceptable in India or not. Islamism is the religious ideology of Owaisi and his political party and since they get elected, over and over again, in Hyderabad they must be allowed to express their ideology. The idea of India includes not just freedom of worship but freedom of speech, so Owaisi has a right to say what he did. Instead of throwing him in jail thereby making him an even bigger hero in the eyes of his constituents would it not have been better for us to have discussed his ideas publicly and made him explain exactly what he meant? Only a real debate will help change the mindset of Muslims who continue to be taught a version of Indian history that is blinkered, bigoted and untruthful and that teaches them to believe that India is worthy only of their contempt except when it is ruled by Muslims. It is more than time that this changed but for it to happen we need political will and so far there is no sign of it. http://www.afternoondc.in/editorial/lets-talk-to-owaisi-not-jail-him/article_73278
surajmal Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 CBSE history syllabus is enough to make any history buff puke his/her guts out. Kids in pakiland may be brainwashed dinks and the damage done there could very well be irreversible but the Nehruvian social engineering experiment isn't any less damaging and sinister. Edit: And there you have it. Post deletion has already begun.
jairamesh Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 After Tavleen's book, Durbar, expect her to be shoved out of mainstream media. Funny interview here: PBc8NZbKs7k @04:00 Tavleen: She (Sonia Gandhi) got use to no criticism being the PM's wife, I think it is still true today. Barkha Dutt: ....but they kind of suffer from political scrutiny that no other political family does :hysterical: What's Barkha Dutt smoking, when has Rahul baba or Sonia madam ever given an interview. The media's sole role is to eulogize these two leeches. Anyways, regarding her point: Analyze this part of the speech and what you find is not just scorn for India's main religious traditions, but a hatred of them. Yet if someone like me (and I am not a Hindu) ever dares point out in my columns that there are flaws in the Islamic idea that it alone has all the religious answers or that it is hard in the 21st century to believe in prophets and revealed religions then I get labeled communal? This isn't the case only in India.
Lurker Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Analyze this part of the speech and what you find is not just scorn for India's main religious traditions, but a hatred of them. As usual Tavleen Singh is going the retarded route. Owaisi= populist leader Tavleen Singh = journalist The former can spew up hatred and get away with in India. The latter is expected to be an intellactual, and quite rightly so. The more apt comparison would be can a Hindi politician get away with what Owaisi does? Heck yeah. Remember thackeray and his rant against Muslim and Islam?
Mariyam Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Yeah but doesn't it need to be proved. By his own admission, the speech was his. Not to mention the testimonies of those news channel reporters who were present when the owaisi made the speech. In light of all that, its pathetic reporting/sugar coating by rediff to call it an 'alleged' speech. Poor stuff, from what is allegedly a news website.
diga Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 See there  Atleast people like Togadias/Bhukaris admit to making speeches. This guy is just a bloody politician Voice analysis test for Owaisi's hate speech- says CD doctored HYDERABAD, Jan 15, 2013, DHNS The Andhra Pradesh Police will send the recording of the alleged hate speech of Majlis legislator Akbaruddin Owaisi to the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in Chandigarh, which has state-of-the-art forensic voice analysis facilities that can detect a doctored audio CD. The police took the decision to send the CD for the scientific analysis, as Akbaruddin Owaisi had denied that the voice was his. While admitting that he made a speech at Nirmal, Akbar said the voice that was played in the media was not his. He said some one else's voice was dubbed, to throw the blame on him. In view of his claim, the police recorded the voice of Akbar during his interrogation at the Armed Reserve headquarters in Adilabad where he is being questioned. The police are sending the CD of his answers as sample voice along with the Nirmal speech to Chandigarh for comparison and analysis. Even though the Andhra Pradesh Forensic Science Laboratory is well equipped, it does not have a voice analysis facility. Analysis at Chandigarh might take a week or ten days. Police played video recording of his speech and questioned him on Monday. Admitting that he has participated in the Nirmal public meeting where he was alleged to have made his hate speech, Akbar denied that the voice was his. The CFSL can look into audio recordings in the AkbarÃÔ speech CD for ÅÄhanges in signal levels? ÅÂbrupt starts of conversation as well as contextual variations at some places. A senior police officer in Adilabad said that the voice forensic experts in Chandigarh could also detect words inserted at places in the recording present in the CD by electronic editing. Ÿe believe that the CD is clean and no alterations were made to it. We hope that the CFSL will help us nail Akbar, the police added.
diga Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Src: ToI Cops dig old cases to grill Akbaruddin The Kiran Kumar Reddy government appears to have decided to go after MIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi in full zeal. As an indication of this, the Medak police stepped up the gas on Wednesday and sought custody of the MLA to quiz him over an old case dating back to 2005. Based on a petition filed by the Sangareddy police on January 11, a local court in Medak on Wednesday directed that Akbaruddin be produced before it on January 17. Accordingly, a Medak police team armed with a PT (Prisoner Transfer) left for Adilabad on Wednesday to take custody of him. Akbaruddin was sent back to judicial custody in Adilabad in the early hours of Wednesday after five days of custody with the Nirmal cops. In the meantime, a local court in Nizamabad directed the cops to produce Akbaruddin before it on or before January 19 regarding a hate speech that he allegedly delivered in Nizamabad town on December 8, last year. In Anantapur, the local police is preparing to seek custody of Akbaruddin to quiz him about an alleged hate speech he delivered in the district on December 18, 2012. Following the alleged speech, the Anantapur II Town police station registered a case under sections 153 A (promoting enmity between two groups) and 121 of the IPC against Akbaruddin on January 5, 2013. Apart from these, Hyderabad cops of Mangalhat, Tappachaputra, Vanasthalipuram, Kushaiguda and Osmania University police stations are either preparing reports on the directive of courts and readying to seek his custody. This follows cases being registered against the MIM MLA. "If the cops have their way, then Akbaruddin will have to keep answering charges at various places one after the other," said police officials, hinting that the sudden zeal shown by the police could not have been without a 'directive' from the state government. The case before Sangareddy police pertains to an incident that took place in 2005 when district officials led by then collector Anil Kumar Singhal were removing encroachments that included a place of worship in Muttangi in Patancheru area of Medak district. At this time MIM leaders including Asaduddin, Akbaruddin, Afsar Khan, Pasha Qadri and Mozam Khan allegedly obstructed and pushed the collector aside. Following complaints filed by the district administration, the Patancheru police registered cases under 295 A (hurting religious sentiments) 147 (punishment for rioting), 290 (punishment for public nuisance), 184 (obstructing sale of property offered for sale by authority of public servant), 341(punishment for wrongful restraint) and 506 (intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the accused. The Owaisi brothers appeared before the court once in 2009 since they were contesting the elections, but did not do so after that. Later, the police issued non-bailable warrants against Asaduddin and Akbaruddin but did not execute them. Now, two years later, the Medak police on January 11 decided to press charges against Akbaruddin. Medak superintendent of police G Vijay Kumar told TOI on Wednesday that following the court directive, Akbaruddin will be produced in a local court in Patancheru on January 17 and that a police team has left for Adilabad to bring the accused. "We moved the petition only against Akbaruddin since an NBW is pending against him," Vijay Kumar said. When questioned about Asaduddin, who is also allegedly facing NBW in the same case, Vijay Kumar said: "As of now, we are focusing only on Akbaruddin." Meanwhile, Akbaruddin's advocates on Wednesday filed a bail petition for him in the Adilabad sessions court. The petition has been posted for hearing on January 24. On the other hand, the directions on two petitions filed - one by the Nirmal police seeking a date to record the voice sample of MLA to compare it with the voice recorded in CDs containing his hate speech - and another by Akbaruddin to be provided special category prisoner status - were posted to January 18 after hearing the argument from both sides. Stating that Akbaruddin had been unwell and even vomited during interrogation on January 14, the MLA's advocates wanted the court to direct jail authorities to provide corporate medical treatment to him. Akbaruddin cooperated with the police team during the interrogation, they said and added that district superintendent of police, Sarvashresta Tripathi had also questioned Akbaruddin in three phases.
