How many Indian states/UTs have you visited?

    • Between 27-35. I am an India-trotter :proud:

    • Between 17-26. I'm getting there. Will cover the country in a few years from now.

Although technically a federally administered union territory, the political administration of the NCT of Delhi today more closely resembles that of a state of India with its own legislature, high court and an executive council of ministers headed by a Chief Minister. New Delhi is jointly administered by the federal Government of India and the local Government of Delhi, and is the capital of the NCT of Delhi.

I've visisted, and by that I'm not counting transit, the following states for at least 4 days. States: Maharashtra Gujarat Madhya Pradesh Rajasthan (been to almost every place of note, except Mt Abu) Delhi UP (Agra, Lucknow, Barabanki, Noida, Kanpur. not been to the eastern part of the state) Kerala TN Karnataka ( haven't had the chance to properly explore Bangalore though :(( ) Andhra Pradesh Goa ( lost count of the # of times I've been there) Haryana UT: Chandigarh Dadra and Nagar Haveli Daman Lakshwadeep Pondicherry

I have lived in 13 states for more than one year. Uttarakhand Punjab Assam Arunachal Pradesh Andhra Pradesh.....twice,in different decades. Madhya Pradesh Maharastra...twice in different decades Uttar Pradesh Jammu And Kashmir Goa Haryana Tamil Nadu Delhi

It resembles a state but it does not have 'state' status. Btw, even Pondicherry has a state legislature and a CM but is still a UT. Any official Indian Government site will tell you that India is divided into 28 states, 6 UTs and 1 NCT. The last four states of India are - Goa - 25th (1987), Chhattisgarh - 26th (2000), Uttarakhand - 27th (2000) and Jharkhand - 28th (2000).

Your UT count is really impressive, though your state count is okayish. :--D Very few Indians would have visited 5 UTs.

Kerala (my home state) Jharkhand (then Ranchi was in bihar) West Bengal Karnataka Himachal Rajashthan Delhi Uttar Pradesh (Agra) Tamil Nadu
Forgot to add the UTs Pondicherry, Goa. Also been to Chandigarh (Punjab)

I love tranfers. The thought of living in one place for years makes me sad. Love the whole packing ,moving,exploring new place,making new friends bit.
