Look around, you will find a Hashim Amla, who is a classical batsman but has a better SR than some of the Rockstars you mentioned. Pujara ofcourse is not in that class, but why do you want to make preconceived notions?

puneet28 Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 People here are concerned about Pujara's strike rate. To be noted he scored runs at better strike rate than Kohli against Eng Tests. He was scoring at around 60. Which means he can strecth it to 80-85. I will be more than happy if he stays for 25 overs with s/r of 80. As fas chase are concerned, Didn't we chase excess of 300 with Dravid ?

Marut Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 No Indian batsman or SC batsman for that matter can flourish abroad unless they play regularly abroad. Excepting a batsmen who has played all his life in India to suddenly play swing bowling in England and South Africa comfortably is quite frankly idiotic. Well, he could not even handle WI A team bowlers 5 months ago, scoring 30 runs in 4 innings and was dropped for the 3rd test. Almost every other Indian cricketer who toured the WI played better than him. We have better options when we go abroad.
