Crookbond Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Maxwell is clearly not a bowler and if he comes in at 8 you can't call him a batsman either so the tag "bits & pieces". He may play outstanding knocks in T20s like Pollard but that won't change things. You can't label the batsman's tag on his batting position. For example, Ravi Shastri played at No.10 to start with. Anyways, the reason why Maxwell bats at No.8 is because there are better players than him and Australia want to bat deep in this conditions. Currently, Maxwell is a very good LOI batsman like a Yuvraj or Raina for India. He's yet to cut it out on the Test level but it's too early to write him off.
