SLICKR392 Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Sachin vs Dhoni is a debate for another day. But Ganguly and Dravid' date=' seriously?[/quote'] He is better. But saying they can't be compared to him is a joke. While Dhoni faces the likes of Dernbach, Finn, Perrera, Mckay, Tredwell. They faced Mcgrath, Warne, Arkam and Waqars. The difference lies there.

Muloghonto Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Sachin vs Dhoni is a debate for another day. But Ganguly and Dravid' date=' seriously?[/quote'] Did you watch any cricket in the late 90s ? For a period, from maybe 98-2001 or so, Ganguly was quite easily one of the top two ODI batsman and his only competition was Tendu. This was during Tendu's pinnacle and even then a couple of seasons Ganguly looked more God-like than Tendu himself. Seriously, Ganguly if pure batsmanship is the criteria, Ganguly is quite easily in the mix for the alltime world ODI team. I think Dhoni is approaching Ganguly level, which is where everyone not named Viv Richards or Sachin Tendulkar has gotten to. A couple more years and he'd be quite easily one of the top 3 batsman India has produced in limited overs cricket, after Tendu and Ganguly.

Dhoni is better than ganguly in both test and odis.As far as dravid is concerned , he was greatest indian batsman in test cricket but i never rated him in odis. You cant win matches with the SR of 70.

I can give you a list of matches that Dravid has won us in ODIs.
Trichromatic Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Ganguly is easily one of the best ODI batsman of all time in world cricket.

Trichromatic Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 going by your logic yusuf pathan is an ATG odi batsman:(( That's the wrong interpretation of the logic.
dial_100 Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 It was always unfair deal for Dravid and Ganguly who were compared with Sachin at his best. If you take him out, these two were our best even in ODIs. Dhoni however great he is, totally afraid to take the responsibility and prefers to come at #6 consistently. That to me is totally negative approach. If he is better than others, then use as many overs as he could. His averages are bloated with bunch of NOs. He should use Raina as a hitter, even Yuvi. I would like to see him at #4 with Yuv and Raina to follow.

don_corleone840 Posted January 16, 2013 Author Posted January 16, 2013 :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: Have you actually seen Dhoni bat in tests? yes and he saved india asss in last test match.
ganeshran Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 yes and he saved india asss in last test match. And how does that prove Dhoni is a better test bat than Ganguly?
don_corleone840 Posted January 16, 2013 Author Posted January 16, 2013 Ganguly, Inzi, Kallis, Lara and many others had a SR below 80. I can give you a list of matches that Dravid has won us in ODIs. "Ganguly, Inzi, Kallis, Lara and many others " dhoni is better than all these players u mentioned above in odis.
don_corleone840 Posted January 16, 2013 Author Posted January 16, 2013 And how does that prove Dhoni is a better test bat than Ganguly? cause dhoni is averaging just as much as ganguly despite being Wk.
Trichromatic Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 cause dhoni is averaging just as much as ganguly despite being Wk. No
ganeshran Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 cause dhoni is averaging just as much as ganguly despite being Wk. Actually he isnt. Even if he was averaging higher he would still not be a better batsman than Ganguly, by the same yardstick that places Lara higher than Younis Khan
jusarrived Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Tendulkar never played like Dhoni . Dhoni is miles ahead of any other batsmen in ODI's . Yuvraj would be the second best , followed by Tendulkar , Ganguly and Dravid .

Yuvraj would be the second best , followed by Tendulkar , Ganguly and Dravid . What do you mean by that? How would an opener play like a finisher? Yuvraj ahead of Tendulkar and Ganguly? It seems that you rate finishers higher than top order players.
