CHANDIGARH: Rarely does an Indian fast bowler come in for praise from the opposition camp. But this time its not one but two of them, who have consistently troubled the English batsmen with their swing. Opening batsman Ian Bell, who has to face most of those swinging deliveries from Team India's newfound opening ball pair - Shami Ahmed and Bhuvneshwar Kumar - was candid when he agreed that the duo have been 'troublesome' and their swing a big 'problem' for the English openers. "Both Shami Ahmed and Bhuvneshwar Kumar swing the ball both ways and that has troubled our batsmen. They not only swing it in the air but its late swing, which is difficult to gauge, and the two have been a problem for us in this series. Negotiating their opening burst would be key for us," said a candid Bell, on the sidelines of the India-England 4th one-dayer at the PCA stadium, Mohali. It seemed that the English opener was in a very good mood as he also acknowledged the role of Ravindra Jadeja in the middle overs. "He has been a very good one-day allrounder and has been crucial to India's fortunes in this series. He gets wickets in those middle overs, which is very important. He also bats aggressively lower down the order and is an asset for the Indian team." Bell said after his team's net session. Bell, also felt that the rule changes in one-day cricket has meant that teams now look at building an innings rather than go slam-bang, which was the most preferred norm earlier. "No one can play massive shots when there are two new balls. Ideally a team would like to get a platform and as Dhoni showed us in the Kochi ODI, the last 10-15 overs are very important for a team. If a team has wickets in hand then they can score as many runs as possible in the slog overs," added Bell. Putting up a brave face, Bell said that his team is feeling at home with the 'very English' like weather here and the England pacers would like to exploit the conditions in-order to level the 5-match ODI series. It's a do or die match for the Englishmen if they harbour any hopes of taking the series till the last one-dayer in Dharamshala. "The conditions are more familiar than we had in the last couple of games. Obviously, it is nice to get out a little bit of breeze, sure helps everyone. Hopefully, we will get an opportunity to put up a performance like we did in the first ODI and go 2-2 (in the series)," he said. The batsman, however, doesn't see India having any edge. "We went to the first ODI losing two warm up games. We have to believe that we can win and we have shown that we can do that. But we have to do our basics right and all XI players have to perform and play well," signed of Bell on a confident note.

Good news but I feel dhoni is going overboard with the 10 overs on the trot with Bhuvi. I hope he doesn't breakdown before the Australia test series. I believe he can be a good test player with his all round skills. Even shami shud be a part of the test team. We shud get rid of Ishant and. Get Kaul in his place.

Bhuv is inexperienced and would be ineffective with old ball.....so dhoni is having bhuv bowl all the 10 overs at once.....infact that has been the success mantra in the last 2 ODI's.....I have seen Bhuv bowl 8 to 9 overs at the trot for UP...so it shouldn't be new for him..... Kaul is completely inexperienced......even though he has talent, he should be gradually progressed to higher standards....otherwise he might loose his confidence and completely perish

dont know abt kaul but pankaj is better than awana in the longer format and awana is better than pankaj in the shorter formats and awana is quicker than the both. and on fielding aspects awana has to be the worst among the three:giggle:

and' date=' how do u know dat?[/quote'] followed all domestic matches even saw him bowl he was far from ready for international cricket im syaing same thing abt kaul right now who impressed me a lot u need atleast 2 seasons and back then he did not even bowl 1 full season and had no experince all we knew back then was he can swing the ball fairly well if conditions help..we hadn o idea how he will cope against better batsmen on flatter pitches (since he did not do tht well on tracks which did not help and was kind of expensive ) but with one more season and 2 a tours he is much more experinced ..and learnt a lot of triks and improved control too

Alright i will take ur opinion on this. But didn't Lalchand rajput mentioned that he was the standout bowler in India A team against WI A team? He should have been picked, i think the india A team played in WI before the Australia tour happened. Correct me if I am wrong.
