For us they traditionally were always about warm up games before the test matches started, I dont now why they changed them to after. Its very much an anti climax after the test series, saying that im not sure why we have sent out sure a bad team.

Sky Sports ran those famous tv commericial "You didn't beat us. We tied against each other" something along that lines that India-Eng match during world cup was a tie.

Had you sent your best team(whichever that is ) ,you still would've lost comfortably in ODI's.

India-KXIP fan Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 They're not good enough in ODI's. Batsmen can't score quick enough, their bowlers have been poor at the death also. Spinners like Swann not playing doesn't help them either.

I admit though that when we win a test series overseas we do tend to lose interest in the ODI stuff, I love watching cricket but even I havent bothered watching this, just doesnt appeal to me.

vvvslaxman Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 There has been a debate about pointless 7 match, 5 match ODI series going on for years. From a financial perspective, these 7 match, 5 match ODI series will continue to exist. Having said that this England-India ODI series is a charade. First Test series. Then T20s then they go home again they come back and play this series. In between there is a series. England was never a great ODI side. When it comes to ODIs i take the results against England with a pinch of salt. I wish Indian selection committee had done some experimentation.
