Frankly speaking i lost interest in odis after watching 300+ scores in every match but since icc changed the rules the odis have certainly become lot more competitive.Average scoring per game have dropped heavily since change of rule.

It has nothing to with the rules but rather the late season pitches. Having just 4 fielders outside will and 2 new ball per innings will be the end of spinners and watch 300 crossed much more during the summer.

300+ in every match! Those sweet days are long gone even before the new ruling. IMO overall world cricket standard got demised with new gen favoring more t20s lacking quality batters now days.

I like this rule. This rule has in fact made Dhoni more attacking with his fielding. Now he has to keep 5 fielders inside the circle. I cannot remember Dhoni hardly doing this in ODIs.

Yes...to some extent... But overs 15-35 is always boring in odi...can arguably called "building phase" of the innings ... But I think 40-50 overs is more exciting now ...we see more intent and innovation from batsmen ... But as far as the bowling changes it's hard to say...in Indian pitches I wonder how two bouncers an over helps them..but in bowling friendly pitches it may... But on flat decks its miserable for bowlers in last ten overs...

The pitches and conditions have been helpful for bowlers recently and hence the low scores. Nothing to do with rules.

As someone said, more than the rules, better pitches have helped. Two new balls being used on tracks which are not totally flat means teams are not getting the kind of starts they were getting earlier, more runs are being scored in the last 10-15 overs.

Most of the new rules are good. Now, there is a more even fight between bat and ball. Two new balls used, 2 bouncer rule, lesser fielders allowed outside are especially good. ODIs feeling more like cricket now and less like masala matches.
