Rested? Dropped for two games for absolutely no reason after being the team's best bowler in the last series and being the stock bowler bowling a restrictive line for a number of tests on flat pattas in the last couple of years. That strike rate is high due to the SSCs, Ahmedabads and Kanpur of 2009-10, flat roads where 600 played 700. In the last couple of years, not much of a difference between him and Ashwin except in this series. I agree in an ideal world it shouldn't have affected him but he does seem low on confidence and has lost his rhythm. Fair enough if you want to mock him for how he's bowled, particularly today, but that in no ways justifies his unfair dropping.

Sirjee? Check this 5 wicket hauls. 4 out of 6 of them in which he has conceded 100+ runs. This includes "highways" like the Mumbai pitch.

Ojha has been elevated to legendary status , thanks to Dhoni and his blind haters . Hes a decent bowler , defensive but mostly reliable ...but you cannto be serious , if you think hes done enuf to cement his place in the side .

I dont agree with Harbajans inclusion , but if they wer looking for an offspinner ...we dont have any other options , also considering is record against Aus in the past.

But happens, people do have very short memory. In that England series, after the first test if there was one bowler who looked like getting wickets it was him.

Of course, before being dropped, taking 53 wickets in 9 tests across last 3 series isn't enough to cement a place in the side.

Forget England - check the series against New Zealand. What's the excuse for those Test matches? It has been a pattern in his short career. He needs to work more on actually "spinning" the ball. I am not mocking him but he's not the best spinner since Shane Warne. He's at best marginally better than Harbhajan Singh and that's that. He's at best a side kick not a super hero and sometimes even as a side kick he will kick his own team rather than the opposition.

That is true. He is not the best bowler in the side based on one series where few batsmen are suspect against any left arm spinner for no apparent reason.

Huh? I told you my issue with Ojha. I never said he doesn't pick up wickets. If he does - he more often than not, knocks of "centuries".

No one compared Ojha to Warne and if he is not performing he should not be in the team. The last test might have been tough for him being asked to bowl at the past minute but there is no excuse for the poor performance today. The difference is that I will not seek to propel his selection despite bad performances as fanboyyz were defending the decision to drop him after good performances.

No question. But we cannot categorically come to a conclusion so and so is the best bowler like in Kumble days where he would 99% outbowl his fellow spinners . I don't say it is a bad thing One or the other or everyone stepping up to the plate.

Why is everyone after Ojha ... We all know he can't run through a side on his own since the day he made his debut. In the Mohali game, he got 4 wickets and even Ashwin got 4 wickets ... I know he got only tail - enders but Australian tail are better batters than the top order in Indian conditions as we have seen in this series. About today, yes he just had a bad day. Every batsman gets out on 0 when its not his day ... can't do much about it. Just wait till 2nd innings, if he is crap still, then start these kind of commenting. We, as Indian fans start criticizing very early. If Rahane fails tomorrow, some guys here will come out and say, he has no technique, got out like he did in ODIs, but not every day every one can perform. Hell Ashwin was miserable for the whole England series. Cut Ojha some slack.
