That is the important thing for him. He is not a swing bowler like BK, but once he is down in pace, he is all the more ineffective on these pitch if you cannot move the ball, down in pace and is still not accurate. He is lacking control. He does not know where the ball is going because his action is all over the place, not balanced while delivering the ball.

The above graphic is a very good example why there is an issue with Ishant. Sure, every bowler is different but sometimes an adjustment of few inches according to the conditions doesn't hurt.

Selectors seems to doing same mistakes again and again. They shouldn't leave him in to get destroyed completely and end up as 80 mph trundler with nothing to offer. It's obvious that international matches are not doing any good for his confidence.

To be fair, Ishant had a tough match ... he got two bad decisions by Erasmus ... one against hughes and the other the big fish clarke. Both seemed out to me.

That was hitting the stumps although I will give Erasmus this one as it was bowled from too wide an angle with Ishant coming around the wicket.

Its a torture for us fans. Ishant knows he has to just turn up, bowl some up and down stuff, and go to his room and relax. No one expects him to get wickets. By mistake if he takes more than 2 wickets in a match, everyone thinks he had a great match. Same with Bhajji, the moment he gets 2 wickets, everyone starts raving about how he got his fizz back. Such are the expectation levels from these two.

Ishant will torment Indian cricket lovers till 2025 by playing 100 tests and picking 120 wickets at average of 100. But seriously, unless there are fitness issues with PK/Irfan/Zak, this guy will always play, because he is economical and bulds pressure. Maybe they should play sreesanth for next match, with SA series looming.
