Vijay isn' at fault. He and Kohli are the reason we made a fight out of it. In both innings these 2 contributed. Rahane was unlucky, Pujara continues his downward spiral. Main problem is hacks like Dhawan, Rohit and Karna Sharma who somehow got selected in the 1st XI.

I do think he's a bit selfish. But that's fine as long as he scores runs. Most indian players are selfish. Whether they admit it or not, 80% of indian batters would prefer scoring 100 in a losing game rather than 50 in a winning game.

How was it a choke? Choke is when you lose from winning position. We never reached that position at first.

You are getting personal here. Nobody is comparing Sachin and Vijay. He was only saying Sachin has a high number of big scores not resulting in wins. Sachin choked against South Africa in world cup 2011, he scored big and the team didn't win...

Yeah these runs are a load of bull crap - I want match winners - means nothing if the fellow chokes on his personal milestones and ends up doing jack for his team. If he does this 3-4 times more I want the fellow to be thrown out never to be let anywhere near international cricket - let him wallow in the domestic league.

Then we have to remove almost everyone in the team.Why, even after England series, Kohli and Pujara should have been dropped, if we go by what u say.Drop Rahane, Rohit, Dhawan etc and even the bowlers.

great player, very important for us. now if we ditch guys like dhawan (who i have backed for a while, now iv had enough, he's had 4 overseas tours), rohit, karn sharma, jadeja, and raina Need gritty fighters like rayudu, m tiwary, try out kl rahul, n ojha, these are guys who we need to play.

Even so it is a fact we didn't win - it wasn't a match winning inning - I wont ignore it - do so at your own peril.

360 cannot be reached with no loss of wickets. Four or five wickets are definitely expected when chasing such totals. The chances that an opener will still be at the crease when India reaches the goal post is very small. Openers rarely remain at the crease when the winning run is hit, esp when target is 350. Vijay as an opener played a great innings and gave us an excellent platform to win - that is it. If eight batsmen in the side flop what can an opener do? Vijay may not be your fav player, but that should not lead to your biased conclusion.

I do not remember what you said. Did you think he choked? Actually I would like to have a batsman who chokes regularly on 99, 199 etc. Batsmen choking in their 30s have become the mainstay of Indian cricket lately.:haha:

facts ? fact is he scored 99 and after he got out we imploded fact is on day 5 pitch it was great inning and we were in for win until he was there batting fact is if he scored 80 ,90 ,70 it would have been considered great inning and you would not have questioned it at all but just because he got out in 90's its a choke yes he was nervous in 90 but that is because he recently got out in 90s many times and was nervous but that takes nothing away from it ..it was still good inning and bigger shame then him missing 100 is that other batsmen could not even reach 20-30 which was all we needed but lets ignore that a blame one of our best performer...how dare he not do any more better!

The comparison is between the lack of mental solidity that Sachin used to have when he was in the 90s and the one Vijay had when he was on 99. It's not a comparison between their batting capabilities or stardom or fan following. Nothing wrong in picking up a specific chunk of the attributes of the two players and comparing.
