He gets low bounce. On pitches with variable bounce you can get away with it as Shane Watson's lbw dismissal showed. But when the pitch has true bounce, batsmen will take him to the cleaners. Not a test match bowler IMO

I distinctly remember PK with his low bounce causing havoc in Aus during CB series finals. Ponting was out twice trying to pull him and Ponting is one of the best pullers

They also have had some low scores in recent years. It is all about the kind of attack they are facing. I bet if likes of Steyn, Philander, Morkel will bowl to them on those pitches, they will be in as much discomfort as others are.

With seamers of our quality, even if we pick up few quick wickets, one or the other batsman will dig in for a big score. If spinners bowl like we did against England, a whitewash is pretty much a given.

On the contrary, on true pitches, when ball keeps low and skids through batsmen generally play a false shot. As the PK ball's to Ponting prove, even the best pullers get decieved when ball keeps low

BK looks to be far more consistent with his line than PK or some other swing / seam bowlers we have had. Early days for him but his consistent line , length and the ability to land balls at the same spot repeatedly could see him do better as a test bowler outside India.

The field settings, pitch conditions, batting style - everything is different. BK will do comparatively better in ODIs and his batting is a big plus there. Test matches are a different game. In a pitch with true bounce, deliveries which consistently keep low (Knee to waist high) are an early Diwali for the batsmen. Remember, they dont have the compulsion to immediately attack the bowler. There is ample time to just knock the ball around, negate the movement and then go after the bowling.
