I6MTW Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Australia and England lose 0-3 to NZ. We become no. 2 in tests.
JaFanatic Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 mods merge it with the australia tour of india thread
tweaker Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 then : Fletcher gets contract renewal Dhoni remains captain Sehwag,Ishant Sharma,HarbhajanSingh r not dropped from team Sachin Tendulkar Prolong his carrier
NareshK Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 then : Fletcher gets contract renewal Dhoni remains captain Sehwag,Ishant Sharma,HarbhajanSingh r not dropped from team Sachin Tendulkar Prolong his carrier Should play as long as possible, provided he remains fit and in form. There is no substitute for experience in test cricket. I would say India would be very lucky if he can play for another couple of years.

adi B Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 If I got a brain transplant' date=' I could become Albert Einstein :-)!![/quote'] still u wouldnt :haha:
yoda Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Whitewash is extremely unlikely. If one of the 2 remaining pitches gives even minimal assistance to quickies I expect us to lose or squeak out a draw. B Kumar can only do so much.
moniker Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Have India ever whitewashed a 4 test series? At least a 3 test series? I hardly remember us playing in a dead rubber test.
NareshK Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Have India ever whitewashed a 4 test series? At least a 3 test series? I hardly remember us playing in a dead rubber test. I think the last time was against England 3-0 at home in 1993.
Vilander Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 To be whitewashed, and i am keeping the subject as the whitewashed team purposefully,a team needs to be exceptionally ordinary. India were exceptionally ordinary to pathetic, in England and Aus tours, i do not think Aus team would be that even if we create turners in the next two venues. I presume there would be one big innings from clarke and watson.
jf1gp_1 Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 The question for me will be if Aussie fans would want Clarke to step down ? He lost to SA then india
I6MTW Posted March 6, 2013 Author Posted March 6, 2013 then : Fletcher gets contract renewal Dhoni remains captain Sehwag,Ishant Sharma,HarbhajanSingh r not dropped from team Sachin Tendulkar Prolong his carrier All this doesn't matter as long as we keep on winning and remain in the top 2.
The Outsider Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 The question for me will be if Aussie fans would want Clarke to step down ? He lost to SA then india I am pretty sure if he gets blanked 0-5 in England and then loses the Ashes at home they would want him to step down.
G_B_ Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 I am pretty sure if he gets blanked 0-5 in England and then loses the Ashes at home they would want him to step down. i dont think so. most aussies dont blame him for their failings.
The Outsider Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 i dont think so. most aussies dont blame him for their failings. Forgot to add that he should continue to make daft decisions like playing Doherty ahead of Lyon. The question was obviously in the context of Dhoni and people are asking to be rid of Dhoni not only because of the results but his completely stupid decision making.

From what i know the chairman of selectors Invaraity (is that his name?) and other selectors travel with the team and make calls on selections along with clarke and coach mickey Arthur. From what i have seen on the aussie websites and forums, its the selectors who are taking the flap. the coach and clarke dont have any fingers pointing towards them. In the case of India, i think people know that Dhoni is the one calling the shots for selections. Making him a target. Secondly Dhoni himself has not had a steller record in test cricket
