Chennai, Mar 5: Dinesh Karthik will lead South Zone in the Deodhar Trophy One Day tournament to be held in Guwahati from March 10 to 13. R Vinay Kumar will be Karthik's deputy in the 15-man squad dominated by Karnataka players. There are six from Karnataka, three from Kerala, two each from Tamil Nadu, Hyderabad and Andhra. Paceman S Sreesanth who returned to action after injury break, played in the South Zone tournament in Goa but he was not picked for Deodhar Trophy. South Zone squad: Dinesh Karthik (captain), R Vinay Kumar, Robin Uthappa, KL Rahul, Sachin Baby, Stuart Binny, CM Gautam (wicketkeeper), B Aparajith, Abhimanyu Mithun, B Sudhakar, K Srikar Bharat, S Sandeep Warrier, Ashish Reddy, GH Vihari, Sanju S Viswanathan. The success of Bhuvi and Shami should give the selectors enough confidence now to blood younger pacers in the national squad. No need to go back to Munaf, Sree, RP, PK now. All of them have shown terrible attitudes, have had multiple injuries and look content with their IPL contracts. With a good enough looking pacer's pool, pick a few of them and give them chances.

Manoj Tiwary is not in the East Zone squad. Is he injured again? :hmmmm2: Squad: Pallav Das, Shiv Shankar Roy, Ishank Jaggi, Gobind Poddar, Saurabh Tiwari, Wriddhiman Saha (Captain), Mani Shankar Mura Singh, Pritam Das, Basant Mohanty, Abu Nachim, Shami Ahmed, Bipalab Samantray, Gokul Sharma, S Nadeem, Iresh Saxena. NO VP Singh as well :dontknow:, though he may be injured.

Prasanth Parameswaran deserved a chance in South zone team ahead of Sreesanth or Sandeep But good to see selectors trust in Sandeep . Hopefully Star will telecast atleast one match of him

good to see 2 leggies in NZ squad but no Ladda !! Who the hell is Chandan Madan. Why no Uday Kaul ? curious to see if Manpreet Juneja makes into WZ squad.

Kaul must be injured,thats only thing I think of.still Madan played his last game in 2009 n still selected:ohmy:
