panesarv Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 Sachin needs to continue to play. I mean look at where Australia is without Ponting and Hussey? I hate the phrase "building for the future". Play your best XI regardless of their age.
rkt.india Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 Sachin needs to continue to play. I mean look at where Australia is without Ponting and Hussey? I hate the phrase "building for the future". Play your best XI regardless of their age. But do you think he is our best right now? Even in current series, all top order batsmen have done better than him. I don't think he is one of the top 6 batsmen in India right now. Regarding Ponting, neither he was scoring any runs and his record in India is already average. Hussey was not asked to retire as it was his own decision to hang his boot and every one was surprised.
panesarv Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 Yes, he is going through a lean patch but I don't think it's the right time for him to retire. Pujara and Kohli need to prove themselves further and perhaps after that, Sachin can retire.
rkt.india Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 Yes' date=' he is going through a lean patch but I don't think it's the right time for him to retire. Pujara and Kohli need to prove themselves further and perhaps after that, Sachin can retire.[/quote'] what further? It is not as if he stays in them, we are going to win whatever comes our way. We are still going to lose away from home and at home, we can now certainly do well even without him.
adi B Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 Sehwag at number 6? :haha: The fatso can't face the new ball when opening' date=' what makes you think he will be able to face the old ball when its reversing and the second new ball when its seaming? Tendulkar is done. The test series is more than 7 months away. What the hell will he be doing after the IPL is over? Zaheer is done also.[/quote'] tendu is done,he shouldnt go to saf,but zak can still contribute,he has experience, can always price out smith`s wicket along with other lefties and the tail.. rahane should replace sachin @5,kohli @4
King Tendulkar Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 Made a mistake. Should have announced its his final game ever. And walked out to magnificent recpetion and finish on a 4-0 thrashing of aussies.
King Tendulkar Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 Out Just retire. Whats the matter with him, cant he sse the obvious. He will have horrible time in SA, and thats 8 montnhs away and he will be 8 months older. Really poor judgement by Sachin in ending his caarer. Selectors should take over now
King Tendulkar Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 Whats going through his head. He is 39 and being in medicore form for 2 years now. Got thne hardest tour of all coming up in 8 months when he will be 8 months older. He has to go. Plus all the youngsters flourishing, surely he can see they need to be given full reins now and more come in
wanted_desi Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 I was kind of hoping him to flop here so he can just retire.
King Tendulkar Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 Sachin seems determined to humilate himself and bring down his average Wife should step in now and give him hairdryer treatment and make him realise
Crookbond Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 I couldn't quite understand his strategy of playing from the crease on this wicket at all.
Number Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 I couldn't quite understand his strategy of playing from the crease on this wicket at all. He was getting out a lot on front foot against spinners.. Lyon in Aus, Swann Panesar in India, against Ajmal in Asia cup. Truth was he was late most of the times while going forward.
Raghav_12 Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 Reflexes are just not there. Sachin paji nobody ever won a contest with father time. You'll not either.
Crookbond Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 He was getting out on front foot a lot against spinners. Truth was he was late most of the times while going forward. This was not any other pitch - the footmarks have to be covered unless the ball is short. It's just a matter of time when one ball bounces and behaves like a snake.
