Viru is gone When will Sachin's turn come

Sachin also should say goodbye and let youngsters sink or swim in next 24 tests. It is not like is Sachin is going to do anything to prevent losing anyway. Then what is point in having Sachin around. If they are going to lose anyway let them lose with youngsters who will gain experience and have a chance to become better players with that experience. Dhoni will not have any excuse this time if he does not perform overseas. He will be the most experienced bat in the team and cannot push the blame anymore on seniors for his batting failures. It is win win situation for team India.

4 more tests & he will have 200 test caps... will he retire before that? Highly doubt it.

Is the only thing you are interested in seeing players being dropped ? All the posts here are drop x, y and z as if we have world beaters lined up in our domestic cricket. Stop the nonsense.

Putrevus, 5000+ posts, I thought you will come up with something better. Why drag Sachin into this? now. He's the only senior player who's in the team and has had better performance than any other player on all our overseas tour. So makes sense to have him continue.

We have world beaters in domestic cricket. We have Sachin Baby, Robin Uthappa, Sheldon Jackson our new god batsmen. And we have Abhimanyu Mithun, Manpreet Gony, Shadab Jakati, Ashoke Dinda as our threatening bowling lineup

I am not dragging anybody, was he not present for all the fiascos and he did nothing, how long can he continue he is almost 40 and even when he is going good he is not capable of scoring huge runs because he is old, father time spares nobody. Expectations of team will be also high when he is around but when he is not helping team in anyway so why not let some youngster get that valuable experience. He is not in frame for 2015 world cup anyways. What is point in having him around batting at no4 and be a walking wicket. Why calling Sachin performance into question makes me pariah, every player on the team has been discussed over length here .

What does that have to do with test team? He already quit from ODI'S. He scores in every overseas tour. History and record says that. Only time he failed was last time when we toured to England-Aus. A bad phase of 6 months shouldn't rule him out of Indian test team. He's stills coring runs at no. 4. I have more faith in him scoring most runs then even PUJARA-KOHLI when we are playing overseas in places like South Africa. Keeping in mind Pujara-Kohli are ouf best test bats from the recent new comers.

Tendulkar is undroppable. Averages 32 over the last two years and 19 tests, skipped a test series to prefer the IPL, has no centuries, is 40 years old, but Tendulkar and Dhoni are not going to be dropped regardless of how many crap performances they put in.

He has quit from ODIs so the next world cup being held abroad and having him around to guide them during next world cup does not arise. So what exactly he is in the team for he did not guide or help the team in anyway since 2011 with his bat. You may be right he might score more runs than Pujara/Kohli in SA but will it make any difference and one day sooner or later he needs to go, so is not wise to invest in somebody who is young and can be around for while. He is not the fleetest on field so he is not contributing there much so if fails with bats he is doing nothing to help the team.Is he going to be around whole cycle for overseas tests if answer is yes then it is something. Nobody knows how long is he going to be around as our great man says he wants to play as long as he is enjoying the game.Fine but what about doing something for the team while you are enjoying the game. If he wanted to quit Odis without playing in next world cup what was the point in his playing some meaningless odis in Bangladesh. This is same guy who skipped whole tours to be with his family. So who knows he might wake up one day before end of this series and say quits from the game like he did from Odis then all these 10 tests to blood a youngster will be gone.
