NDTV showing this and discussing it with Gavaskar. Details awaited. Gavaskar looks miffed but being polite. saying "He's now been appointed, we need to back him". Well done BCCI. Continue to back the non performers.

Oh phuck :banghead:  So all it takes to forget 0-8 humiliation, losing a series at home (Eng) and doing zilch for 2 years in any format is one series win on tailor made pitches against a side which top Ranji sides should be able to beat comfortably  And we look look for reasons why we are mostly cr@p at intl cricket  If this is how BCCI, the supposedly custodians of cricket in India, runs cricket I am surprised at what we have managed to achieve so far.

If any of us had performed at a similar level n our respective jobs we would have been looking for a new job long back. I guess now we know what BCCI's requirements are for the job - just keep quiet and p**s anyone off. Hell! I could have done the same job at a much lower salary!

Can't wait enough for that MOFO's term to end..
Do you think it will make much of a difference? An equally incompetent moron will replace him, probably Sharad Pawar or his crony like Rajiv Shukla. It's an old boy's club at BCCI as there's money to be made and you will never see any decent chap at BCCI's helm.

Srini's probably sleeping with Fletcher's wife or sister. What other reason does he have to renew his contract?
To keep the heat off his foster son Dhobi.. Mediocrity shared by all, can't blame one..

It doesn't matter who is coaching India at the moment. The team isn't that great. India won the series in England in 2007 without even a coach and did exceptionally well in Australia too without the coach. So if the team is great coach's job becomes easy. I am not saying that the coach has no role but a coach can only do that much. When Kirsten took over Indian reigns, India had just won a series in England without a coach, won T20 WC (Not sure we had a coach at that time), and had performed exceedingly well in Australia without a coach as well. He came into a team which was performing well, he just had to give them direction to sustain.
