Team for 1st test against SA

just about to post this team, saw yours... basically this is a very aggressive team with attacking intentions 1. by having ojha instead of jadeja, india is looking to penetrate and not just hold one end. 2. now yadav becomes the 5th bowler and not ojha who came in place of the 5th bowler jadeja. having a 90mph 5th bowler in yadav is super luxury 3. batting is solid and there is not a huge change... because jadeja isnt a century maker in test cricket on bouncy wickets. i doubt he can make a 50 even in 10 chances. he a ftb and a handy hitter in limited overs thatsall. 4. more responsibility on ashwin but dhoni just loves jadeja too much... i dont think this would happen even if it is the right thing to do.

how do you know Ojha will penetrate more than Jadeja?its pure speculation.no previous evidences. whatever Jadeja makes with the bat it'll be surely be more than Ojha having said that,I'll play 6 bats+Dhoni.Ashwin at no.8

This is gonna be an interesting team selection,specially the reserves. Dhawan,Murli,Pujara,Kohli,Rohit,Rahane,Dhoni,Ashwin,Shami,BK,Yadav-this is the likely starting XI for the 1st test.After Gambhir hitting 2 50's I think he'll be the reserve opener,who's gonna be the reserve batsman?Don't want Raina in ,I reckon Jadeja & Ojha both of them will be in the 17 man squad.One of Saha or Samson will be the reserve keeper.That lefts us with 2 remaining spots & they will be seamers.Pandey will be the first one while 1 of Zak,Mohit or Aaron will be the 2nd one.Aaron is my choice :--D.So the only reserve batsman in the team is Jadeja which is not enough back up.Ojha will go as a 2nd spinner after this series.So maybe Jadeja will not get selected & we'll see a new guy going in as a reserve batsman.

MY X1 DHAWAN VIJAY Pujara Kohli Rohit Rahane Dhoni Ashwin Zaheer Bhuneshwar Shami I have left out both Ojha and Jadeja. I have kept Rahane as extra batsman with seamers and 1 spinner. This is a new team with first outing in test so I want one extra batsman and I think Rahane can come in handy there.

It wont happen and I would not do it. But if you said right Ashwin is genuine all rounder, bat him 7. It means extra bowler, why do extra spinner? In SA play extra seamer and attack with good 4 pronged pace attack BK - Swing and seam Shami - Swing and seam at pace Zak - Left armer Yadav - Raw pace Could be awesomely balanced seam attack to cause saffies massive problems

nope but some times you bowl well and do not pick wickets its not like we can watch match but if past is to go by anything he will pick wickets easily in 1 of 2 games

if the tail starts from #6 ,we are more than screwed..we dont need an extra spinner but most defo need a proper #6 ..anyway most of the damage will be done by the pacers,even ashwin would be ineffective tbh.. zak wont play a test,most probably yadav will play and tbh he should

Kohli scored 100 & 92 in australia batting and was highest scorer so it would be injustice to him if he is not promoted to no4. Rohit seems to look good batting with tailenders which is an art itself. I would wait atleast 2 series more before confirming kohli or rohit at no4 until then it shld be kohli.
