Rocky Balboa Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Its gonna hurt India real bad. our pacers gonna be bowling slowly(not that they are quick earlier). We gonna suffer.:((
Number Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Agar fit hote to bhi kuchh nhi ukhaad pate. Last season we won 1 match out of 9 in Aus+Eng against them without IPL fatigue. If we don't finish bottom of the group, I'll be satisfied.
I6MTW Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Simple solution. Play a squad that has not played in IPL this season. It's always good to experiment with young talent.
jf1gp_1 Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 all the traveling around has to be tough even if you are in your 20s
Haarkarjeetgaye Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 so Pkistanis will be fresh because they were sitting and watching IPL on TV?
RedFever Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 This will be the last ICC Champions Trophy, no one cares about Champions Torphy any more. :aha:
singhprakash72 Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Well does anybody care about Champions trophy from Indian team..even if Dhoni and Fletcher lose all the matches in CT nothing happens to them...I mean if a captain and coach cannot be removed after losing 8 continuous overseas matches, then they r virtually untouchable .
Austin 3:!6 Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 I for one will be satisfied if we can win the all important game against Pakistan. For me CT is only abt that game.
SLICKR392 Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Bleh! Who cares? Would love to watch how Dhawan & Kohli does and the new lot of bowlers. Obviously the Pak match would be the real 'stuff' in the tourney.
saneindian Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 What have we done in England in major tournaments since 1983 WC win? Other than the 2002 Natwest win, 99 WC knocked out, 2004 CT knocked out, lost out last 2 series in 2007 and 2011. IIRC we also lost a ODI series to Eng in 2004 before CT. Doesn't inspire any confidence. Difficult to see us going to even semis.

rkt.india Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Indian Squad for Champions Trophy to be picked tomorrow The 15-member India squad for next month's ICC Champions Trophy will be picked in Mumbai on Saturday and it would be interesting to see whether the selectors give a chance to axed senior players such as Virender Sehwag, who does not figure in the 30-member list of probables chosen earlier. When the selection panel, headed by Sandeep Patil, named the list of probables on April 6, two prominent names -- Virender Sehwag and Harbhajan Singh -- were missing from it. Since then, the two senior cricketers' form in the ongoing T20 League would have been monitored by the selectors. It remains to be seen whether the duo have made enough of an impression with their displays in the T20 League to force their way into the final squad for the June 6 to 23 tournament to be held in the United Kingdom. As per the ICC rules, the selectors have the option to choose players from even outside the probables list announced for the ODI tournament, to be held in England and Wales. The list contains four openers -- Murali Vijay, Shikhar Dhawan, Gautam Gambhir and Unmukt Chand -- and it would be interesting to see whether Sehwag makes it as one of three openers likely to be chosen in the final 15. Similarly, for the spinners' slot, there are five claimants in R Ashwin, Amit Mishra, Ravindra Jadeja, Jalaj Saxena and Parveez Rasool. Whether Harbhajan can force his way back after showing some good form in IPL remains to be seen. There are seven middle-order batsmen, four wicketkeepers -- including Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who is expected to be named the skipper -- and 10 medium pace bowlers in the probables mix. India and South Africa are scheduled to kick off the contest on June 6 at the Sophia Gardens at Cardiff, Wales in a Group B match. India are to take on the West Indies at the Kennington Oval in London on June 11 and then conclude the four-team group engagement on June 15 against arch-rivals Pakistan at Edgbaston, Birmingham. Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Sri Lanka form Group A. The top two teams from each group would progress to the semi-finals scheduled on June 19 and 20 at the Kennington Oval and Sophia Gardens respectively with the winners advancing to the June 23 final to be played at Edgbaston. This would be the first international engagement for the team after the conclusion of the four-Test series against Australia on March 24. The list of 30 Indian probables: Murali Vijay, Shikhar Dhawan, Gautam Gambhir, Unmukt Chand, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, Manoj Tiwary, Ajinkya Rahane, A Rayudu, Kedar Jadhav, M S Dhoni, Wriddhiman Saha, Dinesh Karthik, R Ashwin, Amit Mishra, Ravindra Jadeja, Jalaj Saxena, Parvez Rasool, Ishant Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ashok Dinda, Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Irfan Pathan, Vinay Kumar, Paveen Kumar, I C Pandey and Sidharth Kaul. http://www.hindustantimes.com/Cricket/CricketNews/Indian-Squad-for-Champions-Trophy-to-be-picked-tomorrow/Article1-1054110.aspx

King Tendulkar Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 My 15 Murali Vijay, Shikhar Dhawan,Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, A Rayudu, M S Dhoni, Dinesh Karthik, R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Ishant Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar,Umesh Yadav, Shami
rkt.india Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Ishant Sharma' date=' B Kumar and Umesh Yadav would make the squad I believe.[/quote'] These 3 will be frontline pacer. They need one seam alrounder might be Irfan because Jaddu is not going to work in England, only one spinner is enough there in Ashwin and also need one back up pacer who can that one be PK, Vk, Dinda, or Shami?
