Won't be long before he coaches an IPL team,. My bet would be Mumbai. Can we get him as a full time NCA director though? Sandeep Patil's post is yet to be filled. There were rumors of Dravid getting appointed once he quits IPL this season.

is that a full time job? Is so then IMO he wont take it. His family are in south africa and he has young children. With todays pace of playing cricket he is probably on tour for 6 months. what will probably happen is that he will take a coaching job with a domestic side in australia or south africa + coach an IPL team. That way he will be at home for something like 9 months of the year with 2 gone for the IPL. Look at Flemming. Has young children. Is making good money with the Chennai super kings and enjoys life and a fledgeing business back home in Nz. Best of both world. Once his children are old enough 18+ he will seek to go into full time international management.

Gary Kirsten has decided not to renew his contract as South Africa coach, which ends in August, to be able to spend more time with his family. The Champions Trophy in England in June will be his last assignment with the South Africa side, which he led to to the top of the Test rankings. Kirsten was appointed in August 2011 for a two-year period, with the option to renew it for a further two years. His contract required him to inform CSA by April 30 this year whether he wished to exercise that option. "Gary has a young family and it is understandable that he wishes to spend more time at home," Chris Nenzani, the CSA president and chairman, said. "I would like to thank him for his tremendous contribution to the wellbeing of the Proteas over the past two years. It is obvious to all of us, whether we have been close to the Proteas or simply fans watching from the stands, the standard of excellence that he has brought to our national team and it will be wonderful if he can complete his tenure by bringing home the ICC Champions Trophy next month. "With the team due to tour Sri Lanka in July and August and Pakistan in November and important home series coming up against India and Australia next season it is important that we move quickly to identify his successor." Nenzani said CSA would try to utilise Kirsten's experience in some other capacity. "Gary certainly leaves the Proteas in good health and, although we are disappointed to lose him as head coach, he has put the foundations in place to carry us forward. We will certainly endeavour to retain his services in some capacity as his experience as player, coach and mentor is not something we want to lose in its entirety." "I would like to thank Cricket South Africa for the confidence they showed in entrusting me with the fortunes of the national team," Kirsten said. "It has been a huge privilege to represent my country as player and coach and to have been given the responsibility of growing the team. "I would particularly like to thank Cricket South Africa for allowing me the flexibility to combine my coaching job with my family life during my tenure. "There have been many highlights over the past two years which have been well documented and I have every confidence that the Proteas will continue to go from strength to strength." why do i get a feeling he maybe Pune bound? must be said Gary has a **** T20 record with India and South africa. i dont think its the automatic hit people think it will be. South africa were abysmal this T20 world cup in SL. Just like India were abysmal in 2009/2010

this :( I'd very much like him to come back as India's Coach but I don;t see that happening any time soon.

He is getting too much credit from both India and South Africa in my view. He got on to both teams at perfect time when both of them were on upswing. He might have steadied both teams but he has not delivered something great for both teams. One thing he has done well for both team is he has managed the big egos of big players on both teams. SA failed miserably in T-20 world cup and odis where they even lost NZ under him.Let us what they will do in CT. Tactically he has not made any difference on both teams, I don't think it is his strong point.

On the other hand, he could have stayed for another year or two.. SA would have surely stayed on top in tests & ODI's

He left because of conflict of interests ... Srini Mama strikes again ... Srini had asked CSA to relieve him before the Indian tour later this year because he knows Indian tactics well and CSA had no choice but to ask him to go honourably by saying he doesn't want to renew contract. :hail: SRINI MAMA
