I honestly don't know what is wrong with CSK fans?? Why do they have such a siege/victim mentality? Why are they in a constant state of denial? Why are they taking Srini's bullchit comments at face value? Everyone knows the truth about Meiyappan.....I don't know why they are deluding themselves?? They have no hesitation in sharpening their knives when it comes to other franchises......but when it comes to their franchise......it's excuses galore.....horrible double standards......

Police failed to collect evidence to prove charges, says court While granting bail to Vindoo Dara Singh, CSK team principal Gurunath Meiyappan and six others in the IPL spot-fixing case, the metropolitan magistrate observed police failure in proving cheating and forgery charges against them though they had ample opportunity to collect evidence. Observing that the police were "far away" from proving the charges, the court pointed out the inability of the police in getting substantial evidence to oppose the bail. In an 11-page order, magistrate M N Saleem observed, "The prosecution availed an ample opportunity to interrogate and collect the material, but it is not in a position to point out actually who were cheated by virtue of forged documents by any of the accused..." In the case of Meiyappan, the court observed that the prosecution had not tried to go beyond a solitary allegation that he placed bets through Vindoo. "The prosecution nowhere claimed he has any connection with any cricketer, or that any player acted as per his command during the IPL 2013... The prosecution accepted that this applicant (Meiyappan) did not know the other accused except Vindoo," the order reads. With regard to Prem Taneja, arrested for sending a "gift" to Pakistani umpire Asad Rauf, the order states that the prosecution suppressed the evidence while seeking Taneja's custody on May 24. "The prosecution sought his custody on the ground that the cargo allegedly sent by him is yet to be recovered. However, their say filed by the investigating officer indicates that on May 23, the cargo was already recovered. It means, by suppressing material facts the custodial interrogation of the accused was extended," the order reads.

Let me try to make this a bit more clear here. Lets assume that Meiyappan is just an "enthusiast" (contrary to all other evidence). Now' date=' he got access to certain team areas including the ground etc. I want to know who the phuck gave him that access and want that MoFo tracked upon, hunted and pay for his actions. DM, no one is saying Meiyappan shouldn't be punished. That is up to the courts and lawyers. I am only talking about the specific IPL clause which says a franchise can be terminated if an OWNER did xyz. Are you saying that clause applies to CSK simply because Meiyappan had an all access pass? If he had no DIRECT ownership in CSK or majority ownership in any company which owns CSK and is just an employee or an enthusiast, I am not sure that clause should apply to him. Even in case of Kundra, it is absurd IMO to terminate a franchise just because of the actions of one individual. What about the fans of RR? It makes more sense to force him to sell his share and get the hell out of the IPL instead of destroying the franchise and asking fans to start supporting a totally new team with no continuity.

Yoda, That clause from in the IPL is ambiguous at it's best so it can be argued either ways but I am not talking about franchisee termination. I want THIS - Meiyappan shouldn't be the scape goat here. All the people who were involved in hiring of Meiyappan and giving him "special" grants should be under the pump. I'm not asking for jail time but a simple firing from the firm with a hefty fine will do. This will set a precedent that Meiyappan like people should be kept away from IPL. The people who appointed him are also guilty in this debacle. Kundra's case is different - he is a major stake holder in the Rajasthan Royals.

In fact the main agenda of most here is termination of the franchise as that who their hate is targeted towards. Fair enough. However if a guy acted alone and also in his personal capacity using info he gained from his office, what can the organization do to stop him? All they can do is fire him. Ofc they also have to face the consequences of the larger body (in this case the IPL/BCCI) taking whatever action is deemed necessary to punish the franchise monetarily or otherwise. N. Srini and other top brass of India Cements hired him and made him in-charge/CEO. Now the guy goes and bets on the franchise itself with no else knowing anything about it. What could India cements have done to stop that? I don't buy the argument that he was just an enthusiast. Looks like he was operating in an official capacity (CEO or whatever), being part of auctions etc, so he did have the right to roam around wherever. However what is in contention is whether he was a real owner of the team or just part of the top level management.

Like I said earlier, I would launch an independent external investigation into the appointment of Meiyappam and IF I find any kind of mischief by people in his appointment I will make that person pay. I will also make the person who gave him access to team management details etc. It may not be a jail term or even losing his job but probably a hefty fine with long-term community service. It would set a precedent.
