jalebi_bhai Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 So some fecker spot fixes and it is all N. Srini's fault much like it was the ICC boss' fault when the P@kis decided to cheat? :nice: It's not only about the fixing.....we have become the biggest jokers in the cricketing world during his tenure.....one humiliation after the other.....all the hard work done during the Ganguly era to make us into a credible cricketing superpower has gone to the wayside under Sirni's tenure.....back to the 90's era non-sense....
Raghav_12 Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 The way he humiliated a legend like Moninder Amarnath openly, was enough indicator that he has scant respect for cricket and cricketing things in India. It's business for him. It's unfortuante to see people jumping to defend just because he happens to be from same region. It is beyond debate that in his time Indian cricket has seen it's nadir, both on-field and off-field. He must go with his entourage of lickers.
pinkfreud Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 Lalit Modi having a field day, saying 'IPL was clean during my time'. https://twitter.com/LalitKModi :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical:

The truth is most people and media hate him becoz he come from a particular region.. you guys fail to see it.. Can you please name a non-corrupt person, who is eligible to take up that position? In general, is there even any one?

What matters is the HUGE conflict of interest - the guy is the BCCI Prez and at the same time he owns an IPL team but his bhakts just don't see anything wrong it that. Then there was the news about how he manipulated the selection committee to keep Dhoni as Captain when everyone wanted to sack him after the 8-0 loss. He is corrupt, manipulative businessman who only wants to earn profits and doesn't give a sh!t about the development of Indian cricket. I really cannot understand how such a man can have so many fans despite what he has done to Indian cricket.

You mean the issue which went to the US Supreme court and the court itself said it was not illegal. He wanted to retain Dhoni cause of the TINA factor. Regarding corruption, you can't run a business in India unless you are corrupt. The part about how he doesn't care about Cricket development in India is all BS. He is as interested as the guy before him or the guy after him. Don't tell me he is any worse than Sharad Pawar in this regard. So it basically comes down to personal dislike and hate for whatever reason, some of which is regional.

And I one seems to forget that India Cements bought CSK in 2008, before he was appointed as Secretary of BCCI in 2008. He became the president in 2011. The whining started by lalit modi along with franchsie owners (esp mi). I bet no one will be questioning suppose, MI's owner made the BCCI's president. Media is always against southen states and their people, all they want (or fueled by others) is someone from mumbai/north to rule the roost. Btw, did u see the outcry when Ashwin selected over Rohit sharma for WC 2011? Primary reason being selection bowler over batsman, but they repeatedly mentioned, "Ashwin plays for CSK, a franchise owned by N Srini, President of BCCI". Media and most other people never tolerate a single TN guy playing for India. See how Srikkanth being bullied for being selector. Sack Dhoni after 8-0 loss? like if everyone is in form and he made them play badly? Media always wanted to create some sensation..
Detonator Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 srini hatao kirkut bachao :protest: injury hatao chepujara bachao :giggle:

pinkfreud Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 I don't think owing a franchise while heading the sporting body is a new thing. But that doesn't make it right, does it? Regardless of when Srinivasan became the BCCI President, there should have been a provision in place (and that's where the stupid board has failed) where you can't preside over a national tournament in which your own team is playing. Is it really that hard to understand? It has nothing to do with Srinivasan being a Tamilian. I've also noticed many people here and within the cricketing fraternity are highly regionalistic. But you can't use that as your argument to justify what Srinivasan is doing. You're only defending one wrong with another, and that's pointless. I don't know about the rest, but I'd be equally pissed off if any other team owner was also in the BCCI. Conflict of interest is conflict of interest, regardless of where you are from or who you support.

He is not the IPL president but BCCI's president, IPL is supervised by Rajiv Shukla . you say it has nothing to do with Srini being Tamilan, but media and majority of people doesn't think so.. See, we never complained players from other regions taken into national side, but there are others, who never tolerate the selection of TN players. A recent example is Sridharan Sharath, a Ranji veteran, who retired without playing a single international game.

G_B_ Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 @Detonator i dont know why your getting defensive. spot fixing aside there have been so many issues with Srinivasan. I personally dont think he is corrupt in cricket. He makes **** loads of money outside cricket with cement. but its the nepotism and small mindedness which is making India and the BCCI hated all around the cricketing world.
pinkfreud Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 He is not the IPL president but BCCI's president' date=' IPL is supervised by Rajiv Shukla . [/quote'] And who supervises the IPL and Shukla bhaiyya?
