Yadav's pace ranges from 145k to 153k whereas Wahab's is 135k to 140k and he's going to be ass-whooped by Kohli again. Wahab bowled at 145kph Average in SA V Yuvraj in ICC-WC That bowl was 147kph

express bowling Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 I always find these kind of threads funny; how many express bowlers have we produced in the last 50 yrs ? so why this obsession with pace when we know their arent any. Why do some you consider only express pace as pace. A fast-medium pacer who gets good bounce and movement is often far better than a just medium pacer who dies not get much bounce. Discussing whether a pacer is fast-medium or just medium can be an important topic. The 3 good pacers India has produced till date, have been either fast ( Srinath ) or fast-medium ( Kapil and Zaheer ). None of them were gentle medium pacers like Irfan, PK, VK etc. So, demarcating between fast-medium and gentle medium pacers is important if we are talking about tests and ODIs. In T20s , any type of bowler is ok. All pacers need not be express, although having one genuine quick in the attack helps a lot. But, having atleast fast-medium pacers in the lineup is important.

This becomes import when there is not much swing on offer which is in most situations. By hitting the deck hard, apart from bounce, seam movement becomes available. Even if a bowler hits the deck hard at 135 k it is better than just placing the ball at 138 k. These are important points that need discussion when we are talking about pace bowling.
