ravishingravi Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 Focused, determined, hungry, professional. Not the usual traits you associate with them. But I really like what Misbah has done with this team. Let's not forget the top players out of cricket. This team is not as high on talent but they look hungry to win things. I think marginally my favourites for tournament along with England and South Africa They could just as well choke but it is important acknowledge what they have made of this team.

I don't really see any change. They are still languishing at the bottom of the table. True they may have defeated us 2-1 but that followed three consecutive odi series defeats (one of them a whitewash) and was followed by yet another odi series defeat against SA. Under Misbah's captaincy they won 12 matches and lost 15 with a W/L ratio of 0.8. Under Afridi they had won 14 and lost 15 with a W/L ratio of 0.93. Under Malik they won 11 and lost 12 with a W/L ratio of 0.91. Under YK they won 8 and lost 13 with a W/L ratio of 0.61. Under Youhana they won 1 and lost 6 with a W/L ratio of 0.16. As you can see Misbah is as bad (worse in some cases) as the other captains they have had post Inzy
saneindian Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 A week ago they were struggling vs Ireland and nearly lost a series to them!
the don Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 Reached the semifinals of the last 6 icc tournaments with some very average sides ,hats off.
Crookbond Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 Pakistan are very unpredictable but Misbah has brought some calm to the usual hot Lahori heads out there.
saket123 Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 I think Misbah's biggest contribution to the team has to bring in a little semblance of stability in an ever-volatile team. Not that much of ugly politics, back stabbing and disobedience going on like before. Before they were like a Mexican soap opera drama wise..
maniac Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 Misbah is the best thing to have happened to Pak cricket in recent times.Pak fans who hate him for lack of "flair" or "Boom-Boomness".They will give all the credit to chuckmal forgetting how they have been the Butt of all Jokes(no pun intended) with better teams in the past.
deathmonger Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 Reached the semifinals of the last 6 icc tournaments with some very average sides ' date='hats off.[/quote'] Won how many? Which team has won maximum of those six tourneys? No need to give the answer. I understand. :--D

Pakistan are always the favourites as well underdogs of every tournament they play. They are one of the teams that struggle to chase 250 consistently.
KeyboardWarrior Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 Pakistani team is a dark-horse in this tournamnt :hmmm:
saket123 Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 The best way to beat pakistan is to beat them in the beginning. Their confidence is easily shattered and they start getting defensive. If they are close enough to smell victory.. it'll be very difficult.
veer Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 Majority of sides dont have a clue about Ajmal.. I doubt if anyone other than us can handle him.. so yes, pak got a good chance .. but depends a lot on their batting and the way they play.
