Sandeep99 Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 Number 6! Vijay  Would have Gambhir here! Dhawan Che Sachin Rat DK Dhoni Ashwin Bhuvan Umesh Zaheer (if fit!!)/ Sharma
gattaca Posted June 4, 2013 Author Posted June 4, 2013 None. All ODIs. ZImboks' date=' OZ one dayers.[/quote'] Hmm good planning BCCI meat heads.
Lord Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 unfair to drop Rahane after one game.DK at best would be backup
vvvslaxman Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 unfair to drop Rahane after one game.DK at best would be backup Whether he is in playing XI or not, he is a good choice to be part of the squad.
gattaca Posted June 4, 2013 Author Posted June 4, 2013 unfair to drop Rahane after one game.DK at best would be backup Seeing his form If he can continue I am sure he will be there. At least the new selectors are not like chika.
Lord Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 Whether he is in playing XI or not' date=' he is a good choice to be part of the squad.[/quote'] :agree:
veer Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 DK fail or not.. gotta put him ahead of Murali Vijai at least. DK works hard for his money compare to MV or RoSharma..
saneindian Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 2 failures and he will labelled a TTF " tried and tested failure"..so I will be a little cautious
maniac Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 People are going crazy with these warm up performances  infact I put IPL performances way over these inconsequential warm ups... Relax people but yes DK has been impressive since IPL and seems to be in good form and always thought he was treated unfairly so good for him I guess
vvvslaxman Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 2 failures and he will labelled a TTF " tried and tested failure"..so I will be a little cautious We are somewhat desperate because our current crop of players don't infuse much confidence outside I ndia.
Swing_n_Speed Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 Don't think PP is a great keeper either. Saha is barely average too. Weighing pros and cons he would trump most of the keepers as an overall package. Also he could serve as an opener removing the burden of carrying backup opener. +1
maniac Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 We are somewhat desperate because our current crop of players don't infuse much confidence outside I ndia. This I agree.....Kohli and an aging SRT are the only 2 guys who seem that they will show a semblance of a fight in South Africa
Lord Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 This I agree.....Kohli and an aging SRT are the only 2 guys who seem that they will show a semblance of a fight in South Africa Pujara?
maniac Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 Pujara? Will be tested in South Africa....Dravid was not a success in South Africa for a reason and Pujara is in the same mould....Will be happy to be proven wrong
Lord Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 Will be tested in South Africa....Dravid was not a success in South Africa for a reason and Pujara is in the same mould....Will be happy to be proven wrong Pujara is much more aggressive.hes more like Laxman
gattaca Posted June 4, 2013 Author Posted June 4, 2013 Will be tested in South Africa....Dravid was not a success in South Africa for a reason and Pujara is in the same mould....Will be happy to be proven wrong Dravid goes in to shell and finds it difficult to come out of it. Pujara might be different.
G_B_ Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 we need a back up keeper to dhoni anyways. contenders are saha and kkd. I would pick kkd. However KKD needs to convert his warm up centuries into actual match scores. No point he getting out for low scores when it matters. Thus far has been our best batsman in England.
Marut Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 Will be tested in South Africa....Dravid was not a success in South Africa for a reason and Pujara is in the same mould....Will be happy to be proven wrong Maybe you forgot the Wanderers 95 classic? http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/current/match/63701.html All sorts of batsmen (aggressive and wall like) can succeed in South Africa. Some batsmen fail in some countries and you cannot always pinpoint a reason.
ganeshran Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 DK Bose's keeping is horrid. In ODIs we are not going to get a better keeper-bat than Dhoni and in tests even Dhoni's keeping is better. Saha should be given a chance in tests.
