gattaca Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Its fun read. Enjoy New Delhi: While a nation was rejoicing at the prospect of finally finding a destructive opener ahead of South Africa tour in the form of Shikhar Dhawan who hit a century on debut, former openers Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir after having lost whatever little hope they had of making back to Indian team were reportedly caught uploading their resumes on Job sites like Naukri.com, Monsterjobs.com etc in their last ditch attempt to get a job. They took this extreme step when all their efforts to get into the good books of Srini Mama also failed to yield any results. Na Ghar ke na Ghaat ke Before the match both the openers had gone to Tirupati to pray that Shikhar Dhawan plays exactly the way they have been playing for the last 3 years. When the news of Dhawan’s century reached their ears Sehwag was at a nearby optician trying to work on his new spectacles instead of working on his technique and Gambhir was allegedly brushing up on his bengali now that IPL is near and he will be required to do the usual Korbo Lorbo commercials and interact with local press, fans and Mamata Banerjee there. Devastated both of them immediately spoke to each other on phone and decided to meet at Viru’s home to discuss about their future where they jointly took the call of uploading their resumes. “Look we are not lucky enough to be named Rohit Sharma by our parents (who btw might make a record of playing more number of matches than runs scored when he retires) nor are we Sir Ravindra Jadeja who would ideally not make it to even my Najafgarh Galli cricket team. Though we may lick the odd cricket ball to make it shine for spinners, we are yet to learn the art of licking balls which are obviously not cricket balls,†clarified Viru. “Also with Manoj Tiwary , Ajinkya Rahane etc sitting on bench since Mughals left India space on it is already cramped up. And competition to make it to the bench of Indian team is far more intense than making it to the playing eleven†Gambhir justified their decision of uploading resumes. “Let me be honest. I am not getting any better with my footwork either. In fact there are higher chances of a Langda moving his feet than me. On top of that Dhoni asked me to make PPT on why should I be in the team when I called him to take me back. Bhencho Agar itni padhai kari hoti toh cricket me ***** marwa raha hota kya mein?†asked a rather furious Viru When asked what kind of jobs he is looking for, Sehwag said he would be interested in any work outside OFF stump errr Office that requires minimum footwork. Last heard Gambhir has been recruited as a bartender in a Pub and is seen asking every customer “Have I made it large?†Source: http://my.fakingnews.firstpost.com/2013/03/16/sehwag-and-gambhir-caught-uploading-their-cvs-on-naukri-com-after-shikhar-dhawan-hits-century/
G_B_ Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 :hysterical: trolling aside, with the IPL now a days there is a high profile outlet besides the Indian team. Probably makes being dropped a bit more bearable.
saneindian Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Just hope Gambhir takes it a lot more seriously without any captaincy ambitions and works on his technical deficiencies. A fit and in form Gauti still easily has a place in this side across all formats.
gattaca Posted June 6, 2013 Author Posted June 6, 2013 He is a bit arrogant but GG is big match player.
saket123 Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Problem with Gambhir is that he is too jittery.. and over the years has never seem to be able to overcome that. He is not sure about himself. On the other end of the spectrum you have someone like Sehwag who is just too sure about himself.
Pagalpanti Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Sehwag is gone.GG can come back Sehwag can definitely make a come back in tests, India might need an experienced player in middle order after Sachin hangs up his boots, which seems more and more likely.
Lord Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Sehwag can definitely make a come back in tests' date=' India might need an experienced player in middle order after Sachin hangs up his boots, which seems more and more likely.[/quote'] Sehwag is just old,not experienced. He doesnt change his game according to requirements as experienced guys should

In8 one of the interview remember himself said that he was very insecure as a player ....this was when he was at his best and almost indispensable from the side..
Rob9 Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 frankly..we need both of them.it's easy to write them off because we have strong bench strength. But these are class players who still have plenty of cricket left in them.i wish they come back stronger
SLICKR392 Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 I really wish Dhawan does well but I have no high hopes for Vijay. Comeback of an inform Viru and GG is a massive bonus for us.
Austin 3:!6 Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 India have to go a very long way to find next Viru.

He ain't the only option. He shouldn't have been the option here in the first place. Rahane is there, now Rohit is becoming an opener and doing well. I forgot the name of that opener of Punjab Ranji team who did well this season. Unmukt Chand is also there. There are lots of options.
